Eh, the age old questions and my rambling.

After having been apart of the vampire community for quite a long time and a lot older than most here, I don't get that upset anymore with details or people's opinions as to whether everyone is delusional or not. It also depends on my mood. I do know one thing, most don't know which sites they should and should not access. There are some really bad ones out and about. One in particular and I won't name it, gets into arguments with the more outspoken in the community because most of what he has on his website is unadulterated delusional trash but then it is like the pot calling the kettle black unfortunately.

When one cannot prove anything at all it is hard to prove someone else is actually or most likely wrong about their viewpoints. Most often fiction is mixed in with fact or the ideas most believe from anecdotal experience. Some carry a torch and are actually good people but bang heads with others in defense of their beliefs. I have seen numerous profiles here that made me laugh because whether anyone believes in modern day vampires or not there are some things that one knows are not true. One should not confuse superstitious legends that were passed from person to person for many years and then written down. Time changes the original ideas. Fiction is another thing. There is no stereotypical vampire in fiction. That is all imaginary and one should not judge a good story by the things Bram Stoker wrote either. Fighting over Twilight I thought was hysterical. I liked the movies and have seen them all. Since I write I just thought it was an interesting story on the part of the author. No one was forced to watch them and they were wildly popular. Moving right along.

My community name starts with Lady and that is not used much anymore in the actual community. Most who have Lord or Lady types of names are older people when it was more popular to use them. Many frown on that now and think it is egotistical. Naw, there are trends in the community. Now those that had one word names have two...that is the new thing. More like a regular name. I use both an alias because that is what they are and my real name. At my age I am not worried about anyone knowing but others are because it can impact jobs etc. That is like most who live in the Bible belt wouldn't tell or wouldn't even admit if they were involved with Wicca openly. Unfortunately that is truth.

No one can convince anyone there are real vampires alive and well ... grins. All one can say is these are the general opinions to things that the modern subculture believes and that is about it. We know when people are not part of the community and probably not a vampiric. On occasion though, they are and have run into people who unfortunately believed things that were out of books and that was what they learned. I also see a lot of people jump on the "I drink blood" bandwagon. In all actuality, this practice is not a majority one in the community. It would not be full proof evidence that the person was a vampiric at all. Like any other culture there are bad people among us. Saying and believing one is a vampire does not necessarily mean one is always honest or perfect. The bulk though try to be. They are all just people after all.
