We went to the Ren Fair on the 8th and had a blast. We picked up some blue glass bottles from a stand that was serving drinks out of them. Iae and I picked up a larger bottle for $9 each and I picked up what was called a "Potion bottle" as well.

I decided, in a moment of creativity, to decorate them. Here are the pictures.

This is what the plain bottle looked like before I started, front and back pictures.

Then I started decorating and here is what I ended up with.

There was a place selling harnesses for the bottles, so that you could have your hands free.

Here is the potion bottle, front, sides and back as well as a picture of it in its belt harness. This bottle is not finished yet as I still need to write "Sanity" on it. Hence forth this bottle will be known as the Bottle of Sanity that I am constantly asking for.. MWhahahahah. ahem. :D

I used Bellisimo Rub on's. The original idea was to use the rub on's as a template and then cover it with an etching solution. I decided after I spent three hours placing the designs where I wanted them, that I didn't want to etch them after all. So I am going to cover it all with a clear lacquer and leave it the way it is. :)

I use this technique when I etch panes of glass, it always makes a unique piece.

Oh yeah and I picked up the rub on's at a dollar store. :)

Those are beautiful! Such a great way to dress up those bottles (I've seen them at Ren fairs as well)...

You are talented... Even if they are rub-ons you still did them beautifully on a curved surface.

Oh yes.. that curving of the bottle throws ya, but its alot of fun to see what you can do.
