Yesterday I had to get my electric guitar restrung (I couldn't be arsed to do it myself as it takes me about 3 hours) and while the guy was restringing it I had a nosey around the shop.
As always when I visit that shop I came out with more than I planned to.
This time it was a book called "Play Guitar With Metallica" which included a DVD with a lesson on how to play Enter Sandman and also a backing CD to go with the songs to add the instruments that you don't have yourself.
I've been working on Nothing Else Matters today. It's a beautiful song, even though the lyrics are rather sad.
The beach is the most fantastic place to be.
It is the most beautiful sound in the world when the waves crash against the pebbles.
It is a place to relax in the rays of the Sun God.
It is beautiful to watch the reflections of the Moon on the water.
It has all the Elements present in one.
The beach is a place to lie on the pebbles and let your troubles drift away.
The beach is a place where you can have fun.
The beach is a place where you can have a swim when you get hot.
The winter storms are special with the waves crashing over the sea wall.
The beach is the most wonderful place to be.
For me freedom means being able to just get up and go when I want to.
Freedom means not having to bite my tongue when someone is getting me angry.
Freedom means being able to have a good swearup when I need to.
Freedom is sitting beside a river with a book.
Freedom is listening to music.
Freedom means not having to take the crap any more.
To work or not to work, that is the question . . .
Why do I have to go to work each day? The answer is simple - I need the dosh!
Why do I hate the place?
The answer to that would fill the entire space devoted to inifinity. It is boring, it is frustrating, it is pointless. I am totally fed up of the attitude of management where there is a culture of bullying. I absolutely hate the dress code which it seems applies to some people and not to others. I am fed up with the manipulative bastards who are supposedly our customers.
Most of all I am fed up wasting my time on a job that is totally and utterly pointless and has no end product whatsoever.
This is the anthem for my workplace:
Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train
I have been learning to play guitar over the last few months and today I have been learning "When A Blind Man Cries" by Deep Purple. It's relatively simple although there are a few slides and hammer movements involved.
I have now mastered Black Sabbath's Paranoid and when I want to relax I play Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here".
I have also been working on "Black Night" by Deep Purple.
Long live the music of the night!
