This is reposted from a FB entry I made yesterday:
I had noticed one of my cats had lost a little weight over the past week and seemed a little lethargic, but I stupidly put it down to the recent heat. After returning from my MRI last night I found my little man limp and basically unresponsive. At the moment he is extremely ill and fighting for his life in hospital with septicaemia. The vet just gave me a call to let me know that his blood results came back and his infection is a result of Feline AIDS. He is an inside cat, so he has probably been infected since birth. This guy is my best friend and I am not sure what to do.
If he makes it through this acute infection his immune system will remain compromised for the rest of his life. I don't want to go into detail, but I am quite ill at the moment and I do not know if I will be able to give him the care he needs if he does make it home. Does anyone have a fur child with Feline AIDS? I have very limited information on this condition.
Fast forward to today: I've spent close to $2000 on my cat in 24 hours. Blood transfusions, cardiac monitoring (I'm talking real crazy cat lady shit). Anyway, the vet just called talking kidney failure, hyperkalemia, cardiac complications and she needs to know what I want to do.
I'm actually sitting here considering dialysis and letting them do whatever they need to do, as long as they save him. I am so selfish I cannot bring myself to let him go.
Karma is bullshit. I refuse to believe I am the biggest cu** on the face of the Earth.

The stars remind me that within time the light disappears from each of us. With arms wide open, I will run into the night. My only regret will be that I did not do it sooner.

I'm not depressed.
It's worse than that...I'm numb.

Pete Doherty may have/had massive drug issues, but the guy is simply beautiful. Not in a sexual way...more in a tormented poetic way. The Libertines were underrated by so many people.

I will lose my way, but I will arrive exactly when I am meant to. Barefoot and bruised I will reach my end; my reality will collide with my dreams and from the very edge of the universe you will see it…it’s hard to miss a supernova.

I'm just now reading this...I am so sorry. :(
My Crunch was very sick during the holidays, but he is fine now (He had a weird infection on his tummy).
I can't tell you what to do, but I was prepared to have Crunch - or any of my other fur babies - put to sleep in my arms, so as not to suffer anymore. It would hurt like hell, but I feel that at least they would go into a deep sleep in my arms first, as I sang to them...
