I cannot tell you how much this saddens me and makes me fearful of our government
PHOENIX, AZ - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has signed an abortion law that allows pharmacists and other healthcare providers to refuse to hand out emergency contraception on moral or religious grounds.
The law also requires those who visit an abortion provider to wait 24 hours before getting an abortion. The visit would have to include disclosures by doctors in person about the procedure, risks and alternatives, and the unborn child's probable characteristics.
Former Gov. Janet Napolitano, who was governor for six years, vetoed all bills sent to her that restricted abortion rights. Brewer replaced her in January after Napolitano was nominated by President Obama to head the Department of Homeland Security.
The head of a group lobbying for the bill on behalf of Christian conservatives said the signing shows that Gov. Brewer "stands for life."
ENOUGH ALREADY~
