Come sit silently by me stranger,

Come rest peaceful in this night,

Let the world slip from your shoulders,

Let others talk of wrong and right.

Tell me your tale sweet stranger,

Lay your head upon my knee,

Pain may keep you in darkness,

But speak it and be free.

The dawn comes swiftly my stranger,

Though a stranger you are no more,

Smile for me, just one last time,

And go while you're still sure.

Looks like it's starting again

Same old problems, same old game

By now I'd think you'd learn

You've made enough mistakes

I'd think by now you'd walk

Instead of raising the stakes.

What is it you're trying to lose

Or do you think you've nothing left

You keep telling me the same sad story

Blind to all but your fears

You think that I don't know

Hell, I've been listening to you for years.

Why do you have to keep dragging me down

Locking me tight behind your walls

Why do you have to keep dragging me back

Lying by calling this living

Why do you have to keep crying inside

Making me wipe up the tears.

And why do you have to keep turning away

Leaving me lonely whilst counting the years.
