This will be my idea section where I will put practices,ideas and so forth that I find helpful and wish to share
So as many of you may have figured out,I have insomnia.I tried everything from pills to herbal Teas to shamans and whatnot.Nothing worked and I hated it.But then I decided to go and take an ice bath.
It really helps.It stimulates bloodflow,which helps heal muscle,move Oxygen,wakes up your brain,but tires the Body.
Fill a bathtub with 80% freezing water,10% boiling hot water and add a Scoop or two of big ice cubes.
If it`s the first time you`ve done this then 60% freezing,40% boiling.I use room temperature water instead of boiling water,but I`ve been taking These baths for 8 years now,so you might want to start out on the warmer side.
First lower your feet and let them get used to the Sensation.Then submerge yourself to the waist.Then if you still feel up for it,submerge until the base of your skull.If it`s the first time remain submerged NO MORE THAN 5-10 minutes(seriously,you don`t Need frostbite).After 10 times you can increase it to 10-15 minutes.I personally go for 20,but again I`m used to this.
After the bath vigorously dry yourself,put on a robe or sweatpants(basically something warm),wool socks and then just try to sleep.
I can sleep very well after These baths and they are very calming.They also cause hunger Impulses,so you can use them if you can`t eat due to a mental block.
PS
Please comment on this(thoughts,experiences,if you tried it,did it help you? etc)
Thank you

I take cold baths now and then. Or I simply use the water from the showerhead on other days. I don't have a bathtub, but I use a pail to throw in the ice cubes and after a lukewarm shower, I use this pail of cold water on my body, below the head. I read somewhere it does wonders for the skin...
@lordess
Yes it does help the skin
This is a really Relaxing Meditation technique that I picked up when I went to Tibet several years ago.
1)Choose a flower in full Bloom(It can be a rose or it can be another flower)
2)Put it about an arm`s length away from you and look at it memorizing everything about it.
3)Close your eyes and then try to Picture exactly how the rose looked,smelled and felt
4)Keep going until you can construct the rose`s Image perfectly in your mind.
