Incredibly sharp senses of sight and smell lead them to prey as large as a wildebeest or buffalo. When prey runs, the hyenas, with incredible stamina, give chase at speeds around 30 mph. When the victim tires, the hyena closes in and tears at the prey with savage bites. As hyenas feed on fallen prey, their eerie laugh can be heard.
