A small, prickly cucumber that is usually 1–5 in long and has bumpy skin. Gherkins are a type of pickle, but they are smaller and crunchier than regular cucumber pickles. Also, they are nasty.
Now, this should not be confused with the good 'ole dill- you know, the one soaked in that juice. The Gherkin, so small. Kinda below average. The dill, bold and flavorful- it is a mighty fine looking pickle.

I happen to like a good dill. I'm also fond of the spicy ones too. There is something about those spicy dills that really hit the spot when I'm craving a pickle. They need to be whole though. The whole ones hold the juices better. Makes them more flavorful when you taste them.

And I think they have a better mouth-feel. They're just the right size, texture...

They do! I want to feel it when I put one in my mouth. Anything less than a whole one is just disappointing. When I want one.. I want one.

The only saving grace about gherkins, is that you can get a couple in at once. Although it's still not as satisfying really.

They will do in a pinch. However, I am fussy with my pickles. Just no pickle will do. I'd much rather have one of those large ones than a gerkin. Opening the package and getting the juice all over, then licking it off is a bonus!

Oh my! Have you seen those really big ones that come individually wrapped at the checkout!? They're freaking huge! You'd probably choke trying to eat one of those!

They are huge! Those are my favorite. I don't choke on them. I know how to handle my pickles.

It's important to take it slow though. It's nice to save a bit for later and not get too carried away. Wanna make it last the night, at least.

True. I like to savor my pickles. While I could just take it all and be happy. I find that savoring it nice and slow is the best way to have one.
