In the dusky light, when the moon is rising, large and bright in its golden reflection, I strolled quietly along the well worn, yet slightly overgrown path, towards the place where I would meet her- My Lady...She awaits me in the receding light by the shallow stream, which leads to the small lake where we will take our rest, once our nights' activities are done.

I catch the outline of her exquisite form silhouetted against the bright grey rock of the mountain, it's high cliff on the other side of the stream...Such graceful posture...And as I draw closer, the elegance strikes me all at once, enrapturing me with a single movement of her head, in turning to gently smile at my approach.

In that moment, I am become one with her...I know the fire within her soul...The flames that reach into those eyes and burn with desire for the gentle caress of my warm hands upon her. I see the ache of her need and I too feel it, deep in the place where no-one is allowed to know.

I follow the circuitous route of the path towards her, stones crunching underfoot. Now facing me, her pose relaxed and welcoming, my eager steps become more brisk as I move close to her...I stop, but an arms reach away. We say nothing for long moments, simply content to take in all of the features of the other.

After what may be eternity, we both at the same time, make to take the hand of the other.

Still locked in one another's gaze, our fingers touch...A gentle graze of flesh against flesh...My Lady's hand is cold from standing in the autumn breeze...my own being warm from the exertion of the journey from my cabin, it makes the contact all the more discernable...We both know that each is savoring the touch of the other...A feeling once thought lost forever, but now, it seems as though we were never apart.

Entwined now as our hands are, so it is that our hearts beat to the same rhythm, our breath of light mist drifting away from between us.

Slowly, I reach my hand over to the slim waist, it runs smoothly across the cold leather of the heavy black bodice and around, to touch the tight lacing and then we step together, to bring our bodies close to touching, our faces mere inches apart, it is still easy to see the definitions of one another, the cloudless sky favoring the moons light...

The urgent excitement in my belly wishes for me to lean toward and make the kiss that for so long have I missed, that I longed for in my every dream of her.

But I resist and instead, bring her precious hand to my lips and with the faintest touch, my breath held, I honor her beauty.

She smiles broadly at this and all the while moving her hand over my arm and up around my shoulder, seeking to embrace me and I can sense the willingness of her to fall into me, into each others arms...and to want to kiss...to feel the warmth of lips, parting to allow for our soft breaths to meet.

And so...still locked in our hypnotic vision, we almost do. The anticipation is like nothing that has come before, we feel the energy of our souls begin to move through us, entwining, recognition of a long lost partner. Never have I felt so alive as this. Never could I have even imagined the sense of satisfied wonder that this coming together as one has created.

Tears roll quickly to my mouth, staining my face and I know that she too has her eyes flowing with joy...We taste the saltiness as they run into our mouths, and we drink them as we drink the life force of one another.

For hours, we stood and enjoyed the first exquisite moments of a contact long awaited, each wishing for time to halt it's inexorable path forward.

It is with reluctance that we break that contact, although, we know that it is only a precursor to a world of delights which await us in the darkness.
