Over the weekend I attended the YouTube gathering in Philadelphia. This event was not as huge as I expected but I did meet many of the people I chat with online so I was satisfied by how things turned out.
Driving around Philadelphia was brutal and I missed exits and got turned around as usual. Fortunately my hotel was extremely close to Independence Mall so I was able to walk back and forth without doing too much driving.
I took a lot of video which I will be posting soon on YouTube. I've already written two lengthy posts on my blog to record all the details which I would otherwise forget.
After the gathering I visited various historical sites and bought some souvenirs. I have lots of video of colonial houses, statues, and revolutionary era buildings.
I'm planning on doing some goth cartooning and animation. I feel that I have exhausted the gothic subculture. I can no longer find any new movies, books, or music to inspire me. My only option is draw upon my own creativity to create something new.
I've been studying After Effects for over a year. I'm starting to study Flash which is used extensively for cartooning vector artwork. I'm confident that I can create some simple animation to upload to video sharing sites.
However, I don't have a character design so tonight I reqested a quote from a professional cartoonist to create a character for me. I hate to be unoriginal but it would take me too long to come up with something on my own. It will still be my concept, my storylines, my technical expertise, and my wacky sense of humor.
