My latest poem, Restricting Walls, has a big story behind it. It also has alot of context clues in it that would seem confusing if you didn't know the story.
To begin, I'm 16 and I was living with my father who is on prescribed medication due to a back injury some years ago. Recently, my dad was incarcerated due to selling his prescribtion medication occasionally and I was left with no legal guardian since I'm a minor. So I was put into a group home called Goshen Valley Boys Ranch, where I stayed there for about a week before my mother came and got me.
Inside my poem, there was a line saying "Snowfall making an inconvinent delay", which refers to the courts being closed due to snow which prevented my mother from gaining custody of me. Another line, saying "My door and window accompied with alarams" which is fairly self explanatory, but to explain further, my door and window did have alarams on them but only to let the foster parents know when we open either one; they didn't set off a loud siren or anything.
Now, I am in Flordia and living with my mother and her new husband as of yestarday. I am very happy with the life I'm living now and I see a faint light at the end of the tunnel. My father did put me through alot throughout the past 3 or 4 years but I still have the unconditional love and loyalty that I have always had for him.
This post was to clear a few questions some may of had but also to relieve me of the burdenous weight that was on my shoulders. If you are reading this and have not read my poem, please do so. I put alot of emotion into it and I am very proud of my work.
Thanks!
