Running did not happen this morning, but this evening I am going to go and pretend I am being chased by monsters. :)
2.5 miles.
Heh. My body kept saying things like, "Really? You're doing this? Damn you."
Note: Listening to Turkish Belly Dance music while running? Fabulous combination. That stuff makes me want to move my body anyway.
Ok. So. Here goes. I have signed up to run in the Boulder Boulder in May, a 10K (6.2 miles) and Warrior Dash in August.
I am going to start honestly working toward being able to complete the run tomorrow. At present, when I hit 4 miles (after an honestly fairly ugly effort) I have a mental block that says, "you're dying! You can't breathe! Your legs are falling off!"
I am going to work toward kicking that in the nuts, starting tomorrow.
Here's the deal - I need folks to keep me on the straight and narrow, hence the renaming of this section from "Emptiness" to "Efforts."
If you don't see anything in here for a few days - ask me some pointed questions? Ask if I have gotten off the fluffy rump recently and gone for a run? And how far DID I run?
I am not interested, yet, in worrying about time. I want to get the distance in. If it takes me a jillion gasping crying years to go 6.2 miles at a jog, so be it. I just want to be able to DO it.
The Warrior Dash may be more problematic, as I have an essentially dead shoulder. We'll see where we stand there.

You will do it, I'm sure. At least you're trying for a goal within reach...
Me? I only seem to run if I'm trying to catch a train or a bus, or if a dog is chasing me. I guess that I should be happy that I can do that...most of the time.
Do you know where you're staying while out here yet?
