Woot! Beat Adam in a game of 40K during a Bunker Control scenario ^.^
It was his Chaos Space Marines verses my Imperial Guard in a 1,750pt match.
This time I went with two Battle Tanks, one Demolisher, two Hellhounds, two Sentinels, three 35-man sized Platoons, and a 5-man HQ squad.
I had three bunkers, and had to have at least one squad in each before the game started. I could only deploy Troop and HQ choices. I decided to deploy just one Platoon, which gave me a 10-man squad in each bunker and the 5-man command squad the only other building on the 4ft by 4ft table.
He then deployed all of his forces. It looked like a wave of metal figures ( because he hasn't painted his models yet xD ). He also got first turn, so he got to shoot me twice before I could start calling in all my other units that were in Reserves. We both traded casualties as he slowly advanced to the bunkers, but the Platoon wouldn't be able to hold out much longer.
On my second turn I got to roll my 50/50 chance of each unit coming into the fight. Out of the 9 units, 7 came in on the first turn, including all of the tanks! He was about half way across the board when all my heavy armor rolled onto the field, and a 35-man Platoon plus a Sentinel dropped (Deepstrike, basically came in on parachute) in behind him! He almost crapped himself it was xD
From there everything just went downwards for him. His army moves very slowly, and the objective of the scenario was to take and hold the bunkers by the end of the 6 rounds. If he stopped to kill the units behind him, he would be risking his chance at taking a bunker.
On my third turn I dropped in another 35-man Platoon behind his now collapsing line.
By my 6th turn, I killed everything he had except for his Predator tank and a unit of Raptors that scattered off the table when they tried to deepstrike xD
I lost most of my tanks and about 40 men, but I held all of the bunkers, which gave me a grand total of 3,435 Victory points. He got about 1,000 VPs.
