Insubordinate [in-suh-bawr-dn-it] (adjective)- not submitting to authority: disobedient.
There’s the definition folks.
Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of this around VR. This site is based around a system of hierarchy. Most new members fail to realize that. It’s clearly stated in the VR manual, and other places around the site as well, I’m sure. The administrators of the site have been carefully chosen based on their longevity and skill among other qualities that have deemed them worthy of their positions. Basically they have earned their spot.
They do not exist to boss you around and make your life miserable. You can complain all you want, but if you show them the respect they deserve, they will most likely return it to you. They work hard to keep the site running in order, just so you can log in each day and enjoy the site as you do. Before you say “Wow somebody is swinging from the admins’ pipes”…I’m not. If you actually took the time to realize what they do you would understand me. How many of you have had things go wrong with your profile, or had a dispute with another member, or even just need somebody to talk to because you were new and didn’t know what was going on? I’ll bet there’s more than one of you saying “Me”. They answer your questions, try to solve your problems, and try to familiarize you with the site and people.
Many of you may not like their decisions when they suspend you or your profile and portfolio. You have to realize that they have to adhere to all of the rules so they can keep their positions. Just like you they have somebody above them who watches and questions what they do, and the can be disciplined as well. Give them a break.
Now onto misconduct within societies. Houses and Covens are places for us to meet new people and root ourselves on the site. They are generally supposed to feel like a home away from home. Some people are not happy with the Coven or House they are in. Generally I’m sure if you politely ask to be traded, it will probably be negotiated. FORCED INDUCTIONS ARE PART OF THE SITE GET OVER IT! If you can’t conjure up the nerve to ask to be traded, then there is nobody to blame but yourself.
Also Coven Masters, House Masters, ACM’s, and AHM’s work very hard to make societies great places to be a part of. How many new members know what it’s like to have to maintain a society? The graphics, the trades, the favor, the status, induction, contests, chat rooms, and keeping members involved and happy can be pretty time consuming. The last thing they need is angry members who don’t like the society telling them that they don’t like the rules or the people or the way it’s run. Chances are you need a change of House or Coven. Ask nicely, and you might be surprised! They also don’t need members getting angry because they don’t get everything they want or the way they want it. Then work your way up to Sire and make your own Coven. That’s your right. Otherwise try to enjoy your society and you might just have some fun and make a few friends along the way!
This concludes my rant!
