What to say?...hmmm...one of my bff's had a baby three months ago...baby was born with a congenital heart defect and is now in the hospital awaiting surgery which is scheduled for next Tuesday...I went to see her and him last night...which I kinda wish now that I didn't...why?...because it's easier to think of an anonymous baby with medical difficulty...now I know this beautiful, courageous little person in the Critical Care Ward there at Sick Kids...I told my friend not to worry...that the doctor's would fix him and he would be going home with her soon...I took her out for dinner and made her laugh a little...today he developed a high fever and his lung collapsed...it breaks my heart...I don't know what to say to her now...what REALLY hurts is that she's being so brave...she's stunned, shocked and holding it all in...:(
