I've never enjoyed pumpkin spice lattes. I do enjoy a good pumpkin bread or muffin, but to me pumpkin tastes weird in coffee drinks. Instead I'm sitting here sipping my favorite homemade coffee.
I've gotten in the habit of making myself amaretto mocha's. (Minus actual alcohol.) I've been trying to not drink them very often because it's easy to get carried away. Some day I'm going to get myself an espresso machine again and then I'll be in caffeinated heaven.
I woke up at 5am craving chilaquiles, and I don't have the ingredients to make it.
Maybe someday soon. 🤤
We're not not going to discuss how often that happens. The radio is nothing but commercials on most channels. It's dumb how most of them do that at the same time.
I was left with 2 choices, Robin Thicke or Led Zeppelin.
No fucking brainer there.
So selfish. I'm over it.

Addictions of any kind are hard to deal with. the ones who pay the worst are the people who are around the addicts. Most addicts don't see beyond their next fix, not seeing the carnage they cause for others they inflict it on.
The mushroom soup was a hit. The kid and my parents loved it. I gave my mom half of it and she's already requested that I make it again. She was so excited that she bought a case of mushrooms. I guess I'll be doing that Sunday evening. I need to get my oven fixed so I can start making fresh bread to go with it. Maybe I'll shoot for making a soup, stew, or chili once a week. Last week I made a homemade creamy chicken noodle soup and the kid loved that too.
Personally I've been craving some tagliatelle with a mushroom cream sauce, so I'll be making that soon as well. If I'm up to it I'll make some parmesan crusted chicken to go with it, but it's a meal even without the extra protein. Maybe the chicken could be a whole other meal 🤷🏼♀️ we'll see.
I had to drop a small fortune at the vets this week. The pup (well the 90 lb 18 month old) managed to get a hole ripped in her side. I could have opted the cheaper, natural healing but that would require wound irrigation 3 times a day for 2-3 weeks. Being sick right now I don't believe I'm up for that fight. Plus closing the wound prevents debris or more germs from getting in it. She had to be anesthetized and stitched up. I'm really grateful for doc using the heavy duty wire so she likely won't rip it open again. The hard part is keeping her separate from the others until she's fully healed.
The head cold I caught from the kid at the beginning of the week turned into bronchitis a few days ago. For some reason it feels much worse than any bronchitis I've had before. Maybe it's some post-covid fuck you. I've got the usual inhaler, cough beads, and steroids to kill it. So, bring on the road rage I guess. I don't have much of a reaction from very many meds, but steroids turn me into a table flipping maniac every damn time.
I guess I should drag my ass to bed. I need to wake up in 4 hours to do the yard work before it gets over 100 outside. That ought to be fun with bronchitis. 🤣
I decided to make a big pot of mushroom soup tonight. It really starts to smell amazing once the Pinot grigio goes in the pot. I can't wait to taste it.
I don't know wtf is going on outside, but it's some creepy horror or dystopian movie shit. It looks like we're in the middle of a dust storm, but there's absolutely no wind. There's so much haze and no source. It's just stagnant and suffocating.
So fucking odd.

Smoke from forest fires
I considered that too, but there aren't any fires in the entire state right now. https://fire.airnow.gov/
If something local had been burning it would have had a smell. Also if it had blown in there would have been wind. I'm guessing it was the tail end of a midnight dust storm, and it just hadn't settled yet.

Winner winner chicken dinner. I don't believe it rolled through my immediate area, but with it being 50 miles wide and 6k feet tall I guess we were bound to end up with some of the debris. 🤷🏼♀️
Yikes... Even us Aussies don't get that big of a dust storm.
Yeah the Sonoran desert is a bitch, but I imagine Australia can be too. Plus all of the deadly things I hear about from there, it sounds like nature is actively trying to kill you.
