My love for an elf.

16:31 Aug 23 2023
Times Read: 107

My Dear Isolde,

Receiving his words was like feeling the first rays of sunlight after a long night. Its delicately intertwined lines brought out feelings that for centuries had fallen asleep in my heart. Your luminous soul finds its echo in the words you shared, and I cannot deny the attraction that transcends time and shadows.

Every encounter under the silver moon and every whispered conversation among the secrets of the night has left its mark on me. The beauty you carry is of a world that seems apart from the darkness that surrounds me. Your purity is like a ray of hope amidst the darkness I carry with me.

But, dear Isolde, the nature of who we are is an impassable watershed. My existence is entwined with the nocturnal eternity, and what I am, what my lineage makes me to be, is a prison I cannot leave. With every step I take towards you, I walk away from an oath I swore to the darkness that shaped me.

It is not for lack of desire that I tell you this. My soul, which seemed frozen by time, trembles in your presence. But my nature is a cage that holds me captive, a chain I cannot break without condemning those who share my lot.

My words cannot express how much I wish our history was different, that the stars conspired in our favor. But the stars have their plans, and the universe seems to have charted a different path for us.

I ask you to understand that my love is sincere, but my betrayal would be greater than the broken promise to you. I must follow my fate, even if it means deviating from the course my heart desires.
May the winds of the night carry these words to you, and may they carry with them the memory of our history, however brief and fleeting it may be.

With eternal feelings,
Ladriel.

A romance between a vampire and an elf?

16:16 Aug 23 2023
Times Read: 111

In a realm of magic, where twilight dances,
An elven maiden's heart takes unexpected chances.
Among ancient trees and moonlit streams,
A love story unfolds, defying realms and dreams.

She, an ethereal beauty with grace untold,
Her laughter like wind chimes, her heart like gold.
He, a vampire of two centuries past,
His immortal existence a shadowy contrast.

Two worlds collide in fate's intricate design,
As the elven maiden and vampire's paths align.
He, with eyes that have seen countless nights,
She, with a spirit that soars to enchanting heights.

A chance encounter beneath starry skies,
Ignites a spark neither can disguise.
She, drawn to his mysterious allure,
He, captivated by her innocence pure.

He speaks of ages long gone by,
Of battles fought beneath a crimson sky.
She weaves tales of forests, evergreen,
Of wonders only in elven realms seen.

He walks the darkness, a creature of night,
She basks in moonbeams, a creature of light.
Yet, in their differences, they find a connection,
A shared longing, a heartfelt reflection.

He's learned to hide his thirst for crimson life,
She's learned to wield her bow in moonlit strife.
Together, they bridge their worlds so vast,
Creating a love that will forever last.

Through moonlit dances and whispered words,
They find solace in each other, like two birds.
A vampire's eternity, an elf's fleeting years,
Blurring boundaries, conquering their fears.

In love's embrace, they find their true home,
Where elven melodies and vampire's shadows roam.
A love forbidden, yet brilliantly bright,
An elven maiden and vampire's eternal flight.

The letter

Dear Eternal,

In these ancient woods where shadows intertwine with moonlight, I find paper and ink to express the storm of feelings that have danced in my heart since our eyes met under the starry mantle. With every beat of my heart, it's like the magic of our meeting resonates, echoing through the ages that separate us.

His presence, so imbued with mystery and a deep story only eternal nights can tell, captivates me in ways words cannot encapsulate. There's a charm to your words, even as you describe bloody battles fought long before my life was a whisper on the wind. The duality of your existence intrigues me, for you live in the shadows, but more and more, my soul yearns for your light.

Our union is an enigma, a tale that few would understand, but that for me is as real as the breeze that caresses the face at dawn. You, with your immortal life, and I, with my ephemeral time, share a bond that transcends the logic of the world around us. Each touch, each look is like a link in the chain of destiny that unites us.

My heart, which beats in tune with the pulses of nature, yearns to understand the depth of your emotions, the marks that time carved in your immortal soul. I would like to be the reason why the heart that has known so many lonely nights finds a home in the sweetness of my presence.

As time continues to weave its web around us, know that I am willing to push through obstacles, defy convention, and explore the unexplored corners of our forbidden love. May our souls continue to dance together, whatever seasons life and eternity may bring us.

Eagerly awaiting the next twilight in which our paths will cross, I leave you these words that flowed from my heart, like the river that follows its course towards the destiny that inevitably awaits it.

With eternal fascination,

[Isolde-

The Slender man

03:21 Aug 16 2023
Times Read: 146

The Slender Man is an alleged paranormal figure who has supposedly been around for centuries, covering a large geographic area. Believers in the Slender Man link his appearances to many other legends around the world including; Fear Dubh (or The Dark Man) in Scotland, the Dutchman Takkenmann (Branch Man) and the German legend of Der Großmann or Der Grosse Mann (The Tall Man).
Appearance
The Slender Man is a (male-looking) being that looks like a man with extremely long and thin arms and legs. He also appears to have 4 to 8 long black tentacles protruding from his back, although different photographs and enthusiasts disagree on this fact and it is therefore theorized that he can 'twitch' these tentacles at will.

romanian mythology
There is also a Romanian fairy tale that tells the legend of the Tall Man, featuring this description which may have led to it referring to the Slender Man.
"The tall man stood in a clearing, dressed like a nobleman, all in black. Shadows hung over him, dark as a misty midnight. Worms in his fingernails. He did not speak, but made his intentions known",
In the fairy tale, the Tall Man causes a mother to kill her husband and child, before he slips from a fireplace and "squeezes her in his fiery embrace".
english mythology
There is also an English myth referring to the "Tree Man", who is said to have a slender body with appendages that look like tree branches.
It is only known to be seen in the woods and was used as a story that parents would tell their children to stop misbehavior. There have been some disappearances of children that are said to be linked to the "Tree Man".
He is described as wearing a black suit remarkably similar to the face of the notorious Men in Black and, as his name suggests, appears very lean and capable of stretching his limbs and torso to inhuman lengths to induce fear and ensnare his prey. Once his arms are outstretched, his victims are placed in a sort of hypnotized state, where they are utterly powerless to stop themselves from entering them.

He is also able to create tentacles from his fingers and back which he uses to walk similarly to Doctor Octopus. The superhuman stretching ability can also be seen as a resemblance between him and Mr. Fantastic.
Whether he absorbs, kills, or simply takes his victims to an undisclosed location or dimension is also unknown, as there are never any bodies or evidence left behind in his wake to deduce a definitive conclusion.
His face is pale and slightly ghostly, and almost looks like it's been wrapped in some sort of gauze or cloth. His facial features are also the subject of debate, and many people believe that his face looks different to everyone, if seen at all.
He is sometimes depicted wearing a hat, which is sometimes a bowler, a fedora, or sometimes a top hat. He can also be seen wearing a long tie or scarf, which can be either red or gray.
He tends to keep his long, pale hands clasped politely behind his back or hanging loosely at his sides. His suit is black, sometimes depicted as pinstriped in artwork, a common misconception thanks to the very similar Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. He has long tails that he lets flow with pride. He wears long dress shoes, which are always polished to a perfect, shiny black.
Behavior
Much of the fascination with the Slender Man is rooted in the general aura of mystery he is shrouded in. Despite the fact that he is rumored to kill children almost exclusively, it is difficult to say whether or not his sole purpose is slaughter.
It is often reported or recorded to be found in sections of forest, and these generally tend to be suburban. He has also been seen with large groups of children, as many photographs depict. It is commonly thought that it resides in woods and forests and preys on children. He seems unconcerned about being exposed to daylight or captured in photos.
It is also often thought that he enjoys stalking people who become overly paranoid about his existence, purposely giving them glimpses of himself to frighten them even more. For this reason, it seems that Slenderman is very fond of psychologically torturing his victims.
He also appears to frequently float or float rather than walk, which hints at the possibility that he is an ethereal being rather than a creature or a man. This would also explain why he manages to remain mobile despite his poorly proportioned body.

Even though Slender Man was fabricated on SomethingAwful forums, some people have already claimed sightings. He is mostly seen at night peering through open windows and getting ahead of lone motorists on isolated roads.
His main intentions seem to be the abduction of children, as when he is seen near them in photos, they usually disappear soon after. The Slender Man has also inspired many stories, such as the Marble Hornets.
In the end, however, its purpose remains unknown.
An interesting take on Slender Man by a portfolio member who is relying on the Marble Hornets series for evidence/facts:
“There has been a huge misconception about my friend Slender Man due to the appearance of this article. He has no hair or face. Everything else is correct. There are also some questions about whether or not there is more than one. I find that unlikely. Slendy is more likely to fuck with your head to make you think there's more than one, which he often does. As of now, Slendy has 3 or 4 known accomplices.
These are Hoodie, Maskie, The Rake and possibly The Observer. Not much is known yet because the next episode of the Noah Maxwell ARG has yet to be released. On the Marble Hornets ARG, Hoodie and Maskie are possibly his followers.

egyptian hieroglyphs
The next known possible reference to the Slender Man comes around 3100 BC in lower Egypt, with references to the "Thief of the Gods" or the "Thief of Kuk" becoming commonplace during the reign of Pharaoh Wazner. Hieroglyphic carvings depicting the Thief were found in the tomb of the pharaoh, who supposedly had some sort of encounter with the entity. The carvings resemble a strange figure with multiple upper limbs, something that has never been found in any other hieroglyphic language.
german woodcuts

Renowned German woodcutter Hans Freckenberg created at least two woodcuts featuring a character he described as Der Ritter (The Knight) in the mid-16th century, which were discovered in Halstberg Castle in 1883.
Although Freckenberg was known for his realistic depiction of human anatomy - something unusual among woodcuts at the time - these images featured a skeletal, multi-limbed character.
Historians are unsure of the character's exact symbolic nature, with some claiming it is a personification of the religious wars raging in Europe at the time, while others say it represents the mysterious plagues believed to be the reason for Hastlberg Castle's mysterious abandonment. and the neighboring village in 1543.
However, many insist that Freckenberg was trying to represent "Der Großmann" (the tall man). According to legend, he was a fairy who lived in the Black Forest. Bad children who sneaked into the woods at night were relentlessly pursued by Der Großmann, who would not leave them alone until he caught them or they were forced to tell their parents about their mistakes. Even so, there is a chilling account from an old diary, dating from around 1702:
“My son, my Lars… he's gone. Taken, from your bed. The only thing we found was a piece of black clothing. It feels like cotton, but it's softer... thicker. Lars came into my room yesterday, screaming at the top of his lungs that "The angel is out there!" I asked him what he was talking about and he told me a nonsensical fairy tale about Der Großmann.
He said he went into the woods near our village and found one of my cows dead, hanging from a tree. At first I didn't think of it... but now he's gone. We must find Lars, and my family must leave before we are killed. I'm sorry, my son... I should have listened. May God forgive me. ”
