The white and red snakes hiss in my ears "kill the human." I see him with my mother and her black hair of snakes. I look over to my brother with no snakes, but instead golden scales on his head. His wife has dark brown snakes for her head. Only the human has soft hair. I look over at the bars of the cave of The Father. Lit torches light the walls for some length. The serpents that move so fast they only cause ripples in one's sight we call the "mavericks" live only here in this. One alone can not kill someone, but the packs they travel in can strip anyone to the bone. Further down in the cave, the light from the torches fade to black. Just barely a door opening can be made out. No one else can hear the cry of hunger from The Father except me. He wants flesh, blood. I am the only one that can save Him and it has to be the blood of an outsider. My eyes narrow into slits on the human. Before anyone can stop me, I seize him from my mother and throw him into the cave and bar him in. My mother cries out, but I silence her with the reminder that it is her fault for bringing the human here. I send everyone out so I can call upon The Father so He can feed. The Father moves like a shadow bringing only silence and darkness to everything, devouring the human. After He finishes, I bow down and He praises me. He then takes me back to His chambers for rest.
