Reason

19:01 Jan 30 2007

Is there a reason you chose me,

to practice your destruction on?

You never loved me,

I was only a toy,

to pick up or shake

to throw back or break

No importance in me did you make.

So I ask you again Why me?

What did I do to attract a snake like you?

I need to know to avoid your type

I can't take this pain anymore.

True life in literature

Circumstance

By Percy Bysshe Shelley

A man who was about to hang himself,

Finding a purse, then threw away his rope;

The owner, coming to reclaim his pelf,

The halter found, and used it. So is Hope

Changed for Despair; one laid upon the shelf,

We take the other. Under heaven's high cope

Fortune is God; all you endure and do

Depends on circumstance as much as you.

Many here will know the last name but it was Mary, Percy's wife who wrote Frankenstein.

I got to thinking about this after reading a forum thread about fate and could we change it.

Destiny

by Matthew Arnold

Why each is striving, from of old,

To love more deeply than he can?

Still would be true, yet still grows cold?

-Ask of the Powers that sport with man!

They yok'd in him, for endless strife,

A heart of ice, a soul of fire;

And hurl'd him on the Field of Life,

An aimless unallay'd Desire.

Another that appealed to the cynic in me.

The Clod And The Pebble

by William Blake

"Love seeketh not Itself to please,

Nor for itself hath any care,

But for another gives its ease,

And builds a Heaven in Hell's despair."

So sung a little Clod of Clay

Trodden with the cattle's feet,

But a Pebble of the brook

Warbled out these metres meet:

"Love seeketh only Self to please,

To bind another to Its delight,

Joys in another's loss of ease,

And builds a Hell in Heaven's despite."

I discovered this and other works of William Blake when I was just a young teenager. This one in particular struck me as true for I am a cynic when it comes to love.

Feelings

03:26 Jan 29 2007
Times Read: 974

I feel the touch of your skin

on mine and I go weak.

The warmth of your hand is a comfort

The strenght of your hand excites me

I long to beg you to continue

to touch me to run your hands over me

These feelings, so strong, so special I long to absorb you

I lean back against you in sweet adoration

I'll belong to you forevermore.
