Dang it

I really wish I was hung over right now. At least I would have had some fun to feel this crappy. Must be a combination of one lousy night of sleep, a headache that's reoccuring nearly ever day for 2 weeks now and it's not sinus related. Damn it I could treat that but this is getting on my last nerve. Feels like a tension headache at first then moves down my neck and shoulders. I've tried relaxing and hot showers but so far nothing really works. I've had worse but not for a while, good thing I've got a doctor's apt soon.

As the Rave Turns- A Review

20:36 Apr 28 2007
Times Read: 998

Honestly some days it’s like a soap opera around here. I’ll have to start calling it “As the Rave Turns”.

Why you may ask? Well lets start with the profiles of the newcomers a good third seem to be soliciting dates or sex, another third wants to kill everyone and their brother for looking at them cross eyed, before they’ve even been looked upon at all. The final third are the ones who may actually stick around for some time, at least while they decide if this site meets their needs and if they can fit in here.

Then we can move onto the usual group of folks here who enjoy stirring up shit and take every opportunity in the forums and vamp box to do so. They don’t seem to really care who they mess with as long as they get to fool with someone. Their preferred targets are of course the Dominars who tend to let them rage for a bit as if hoping against hope they will wise up and grow up. That rarely happens and as the angst continues, while the rest of us are watching with baited breath and a big bowl of popcorn until finally they go that one step too far and the hammer falls. Then their posses begin the usual pissing contest of how the big, bad, mean Dominar was unfair to their friend.

Again all this is conducted while many of us watch and message each other to confer notes on who did what and how far it will be allowed to go. So much better than a televised sporting event, wouldn’t you say?

Occasionally one or more of the Dominars will have had their own crappy day and the fur flies pretty quickly when they are unwilling to put up with any of the usual tricks that are pulled. These are the days you better be watching close while keeping your own yap shut. See now we have an interactive program going on.

We can now move on to the new users of the forum, that though they have been told many, many times by all kinds of people to read the forums carefully before they start posting or starting a thread, do not do so. The fun of watching those first odd threads popping up in the wrong sections and the betting on how long it takes before it’s closed now adds the excitement of gambling on the outcome to the Rave.

Then the weeping and whining when they continue to do it wrong because they still won’t take the time to read the dang VR Manual, has us all either reaching for a tissue in commiseration or laughing until we blow milk out our noses. Either way it’s a tearjerker.

Then there are our wide array of friends that most of us have made here. On any given day that you have conversations with them you’re going to find some in misery, some extremely happy, others depressed and some pissed off. Just like the different little story lines in any soap opera and at least in this one you have a bit more connection with the people involved as you talk to them more often.

Now I haven’t even spoken about the hundreds of tiny dramas being played out in the covens and houses on the rave. I wouldn’t even know how to begin adding them into the mix but they do add spice, for certain.

While we all come to VR for different reasons and there are as many different reasons why we end up staying around, can anyone deny that no televised soap opera can beat the adventures, drama, comedy and sheer suspense that VampireRave offers? Now please excuse me but my favorite characters are about to come on line and I don’t want to miss a thing. Now, where’s that popcorn….

Thinking about it!

15:07 Apr 26 2007
Times Read: 1,012

I have to admit I have always wanted to see the city of New Orleans, and with the big VR meet up there next year it would be a very good time to do it. As it's a weekend in August, the timing is good, it'll be hot and muggy but hey it's the South, it's supposed to be that way. The money's not bad at all, as a matter of fact it's quite affordable.

If my friends here feel the same way the driving wouldn't be a problem as we can take turns (yes Rat we'll leave you the hard parts) Hey, Rat's a professional driver, it's safer for us all if she takes the city driving. lol

Birdie is a great driver too but she is also a great sleeper in a moving vehicle so that has to be considered. I'm an okay driver, so better to handle the dull, long straight parts. It's about a 10 hour drive (speed limit) yes we all know how I feel about speed limits!

If we could take an extra day to arrive early we could even look around the town a bit more, which would be really cool. In fact the only thing that worries me is how meeting face to face with people I truly enjoy talking to online could affect the friendships, we've begun to build?

I know in my case the in person is not nearly as good as the one writing with you. I write much better than I speak orally. I don't have one of those nice sounding, easily understood voices or accents so I'm self-conscious about that and can't seem to shake it. I've been very honest with everyone who asks, I never did and never could win a beauty contest but then I never wanted to either.

Ah well, it's a dream at this point and my friends and I will talk about it and decide if we think we can make it and send in our deposits. Then we'll have a whole year to save money, diet (what woman isn't) and plan for clothes and what we want to see while we're there. Yes I'm sure many are planning their party attire and for their alcohol comsumption. I was only ever partial to screwdrivers and strawberry daquiri's and now can't have them for the sugar content so drinking is pretty much out. Luckily I'm crazy enough to not need booze to act like a total fool. :) Rat & Birdie -stop nodding!

Maybe we will see a great city even if it's after it's rebirth from the hurricane. Top that with meeting many of the folks we have only shared the written messages with and it could be a real blast. Wonder if the NOPD will think to add extra officers and patrols for that weekend, just to keep the locals safe from all the vampires, of course. lol

Can anyone answer this?

14:00 Apr 25 2007
Times Read: 1,022

Why is it that some people feel that the feelings of others do not matter? That speaking to someone online and making tenative friendships means that their feelings won't be hurt if you betray them? Being online doesn't mean they are not still human beings of emotions and minds that will react just as if a friend betrayed them face to face.

I am a grown up an I understand that to many this is a make believe world where they can lie and deceive and make of themselves what they can only wish they were. But why? I just don't understand what benefits they get from this false world they are building. In the long run it cannot hold up to scrutiny without proving itself a lie, so why bother? Wouldn't it be more useful to be honest and meet people with truth and then when unpleasant things happen as they are so often to do, you will at least have your honor to cushion the blow?

I guess you can tell I'm not a fan of lies and yet I find them around me quite often. They are like a sticky film that I have to push my way through to understand what is really happening. I'm so tired of having to do this, I would like honesty so much better. I don't need to be told I'm pretty or smart or anything like that, I know what I am and what I am not and I have learned to live with the product I have now. I want a friend that will say I cannot agree with you but I honor your right to say it. That's one I really wish the people here could learn about.

I know this is a long and rather stupid entry but my mind is in a funny place today and I'm not sure of my direction at the moment. I don't enjoy being like this and for the first time in many, many months I actually was awakened by a dream. It was not a good dream and yes my death was part of it. All I will say is I really hope that's not the way I go as it's filled with terror and pain. But I don't control that part of my fate and so have to let it go.

I guess I'm like everyone else and dream every night but I don't remember 1 out of a 1000 of them or even parts of them. I do sometimes wake up feeling happy or more sad than other times and I usually put this down to whatever dream I had overnight but as for details I have none. Unluckily last night was not one of those nights.

Pretties

Oh I've been a very bad girl. I blew the budget and got me a new wireless keyboard and mouse with bluetooth and all the latest thing-a-ma-bobs and new speaker system too. It was delivered today and I've been installing it and trying to learn all it's bells and whistles but it'll take me a bit but the best one I've found so far is on the egronomic mouse there is a sweet little button just below my thumb that works the back and forwards which I use quite a lot here on vr.

I've still got to haul all the darn packing crap they shipped in it outside but oh man it's so nice.

*for those that don't know me, yes I do get excited over tech stuff* :)

Okay I usually don't do this but I ran across a profile that honestly leaves me shaking my head in disbelief. It is a very short profile where in the member identifies himself as being from Louisvill ky then says the following

im 15

live in KY wit the dam hillbillies

im origonally from new york

1st it's Louisville, Ky *whichever way you choose to pronounce it, it's spelled the same*

2nd I too live in KY and am one of the damn hillbillies and they are not located in Louisville which is the largest city in the state.

3rd the word is origionally and from others I have been given to understand that New York has it's on version of hillbillies too.

I can't do a damn thing about your age but I do hope you reach 18 soon and decide to move on away from us damn hillbillies who at least try to spell and speak intelligently.

Too funny to forget

I was reading a journal entry the other day from one of the dominars, that I enjoy his sense of humor. After reading the message he had been sent, I just couldn't stop myself from sending him the following message.

Dear Sir,

Please forgive this ordinary human for not making the connection so much quicker. I simply did not realize that you were the one I needed to forward my application to be turned to here on VR. How a newcomer made that distinction so fast, I may never understand but well, better late than never.

I would like to apply to be turned ASAP, I would prefer it to be by a male who is tall, dark and handsome, a great dresser, rich and with a wonderful accent. Oh you can get his description from one of hundreds of books on the market. Oh and I want one of the ones who can make it so that it doesn’t hurt like crazy, if you don’t mind. I guess I’d better make sure that he is also of the variety that upon my “awakening” into my new life all the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual problems of my old life will have magically been resolved while I lay undergoing my transformation. Hey if it’s possible could you even have me turned into a natural blond, the visits to the hairdressers could become difficult to manage if I can only have appointments at night. I believe I have covered all the necessary items so could you please put me on the list for conversion.

*If you think it would help my chances I could see my way clear to steer a few of my potential victims your way first. *

Again I apologize for how long it has taken me to recognize you as the vetting officer for this vampire nation, I hope that doesn’t ruin my chances.

Yours in all sincerity,

Nightgame

Luckily BillyTheJust was kind and accepted my application. Thanks for the chuckles.

I tried the test again and managed 75% this time but that is not enough. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I gave it my best shot and that's what mattered to me so it's good. Now I have much favor to earn and I shall take myself off to something I know how to do. Thanks to those who encouraged me to try again. I can still help those who ask and I'll be happy to do so. They ask regularily enough to keep me busy anyway. I've already got a prewritten message on how to find the Member Articles for ImagesInWord's article saved. lol

Sadness

22:38 Apr 21 2007
Times Read: 1,080

Breaking news is that one of the Blue Angels has crashed in South Carolina at the end of an airshow. According to witness statements the plane clipped the top of a large pine tree and went down in a residential neighborhood. They say there is lots of fire and debris at the scene so that doesn't sound very good. I first saw the Blue Angels perform long ago and I fell in love and have followed them all the years since. The hours of dedication and practice to work out their stunts is amazing. I can only hope and pray that the pilot managed to eject and that no people where hurt on the ground. No doubt by tomorrow the press will be debating and argueing the existance and need of a group such as this to the point where I'll want to scream.

Well they just annonuced the county coroner has confirmed 1 death so far. Pilot or person on the ground is still unknown.

How can I say Thank You

16:30 Apr 20 2007
Times Read: 1,106

Sit back and let me tell you the tale of a very curious Rat. One day she was playing about on the Internet and found a site that just fascinated her. She joined the site and began to play on it getting more and more involved in the new world she had found. It wasn’t long before she just had to tell her friends, the Cat and the Birdie. The cat took to it right off, finding so much more that she ever expected on a web site. Birdie, being the more experienced of the three in the world of cyber speak was a bit slower to become addicted but eventually even she was hooked.

Now the 3 friends played often (probably too often they agreed sometimes), on the site. They all found different friends, interests and places to belong on the site but luckily it was set up to allow them to remain close even though they belonged to different societies and had different interests there. Rat, being a great writer with a wonderful imagination quickly found a following among journal readers. Since she is also a friendly person (even though she denies it) she made many, many friends. The cat being less social found her niche in the games where she could occupy her mind and still talk to the occasional friend. Then there was the Birdie, truly the most social of them all who instead used the site as a buffer to take a break from her hectic life. Though not averse to offering an honest and truthful opinion when it was called for she didn’t try to “fix” everyone instead allowing us all to find our own ways about (okay floundering about really). When it appeared really needed she could be counted on to help out anyone who would accept it.

So the three happy friends continued on their merry way and then the day came when two of them managed to get into a new home together. On a day when the 3 were ready to celebrate good fortune, disaster struck. A forum thread that they felt was wrong was begun and when the Birdie and the Rat posted to it a person of “importance” on the site decided to smack them down for their audacity in speaking out though they were only plain members and not titled members of importance. Her choice of words and tone were not only rude but also offensive to all three friends. Cat was so angry that for once she was unable to even be polite enough to post so she resorted to her journal to pour out her hurt feelings and grievances.

What none of the three friends could know was that many other wonderful people were also deeply offended by the harsh words thrown out. These special people took to their keyboards and began a defense that the army could only envy. So while the three friends huddled together stunned a bit at the whole incident, they quickly became surrounded by a group of defenders who would stand up to any and all and say what was done was wrong and out of place.

In the great scheme of the world today this may not be that important to all but to a rat, a birdie and a cat it was very special. We live in a world were most are unwilling to speak out at all much less to place themselves in the line of fire. I want to thank them all for being honest and true friends.

In case you need to ask, their names are RedQueen, QueenMorbid, LadyKrystalynDarkstar and BubbleGumClaudia. There are others who also supported the rights of the untitled to speaking their opinions even if they didn’t agree with someone of importance.

Satisfaction

03:39 Apr 20 2007
Times Read: 1,116

The "cat's" laying in the corner watching as the Rat tries to force a white glove back on a very resisting Birdie. Can't help but chuckle as the Rat tries to keep her bruised bottom out of Birdie's reach. Birdie, of course is mad as fire and blaming the Rat for not keeping her out of trouble. Pretty funny to the Cat who pretty much missed most of this one by sheer Dumb luck, not knowing what was being talked about. :) Cat grins as the Rat goes flying through the air, trying to shove a pillow under her but missing as Birdie flies away. Rat standing there shaking the white glove at her. You will act like a lady, damn you!

Cat can't do a thing but laugh. Hey Rat! If you're going to make Birdie be nice and mannerly you'd better bring food and alcohol next time then bring out the white gloves.

The cat settles back in satisfaction knowing the two of them are someplace safe and together so they can "Try" to keep each other out of trouble. Thanks House Eternal for taking my sisters in.

There's a new sheriff in town.

22:36 Apr 19 2007
Times Read: 1,131

Well, well I just learned a whole new thing about vampire rave.

My sisters and I have often discussed how the rule enforcement has changed in regards to nudity and other content not suitable for those under 18.

This was begun by the administration here and while many didn’t like it, most of us were fine by it. We removed whatever content might be considered as unfit for juveniles and went on our merry way.

There have also been some threads in the forum that were closed and/or removed for their unsuitability for underage users. That’s cool too, the rules say 13 year olds can sign on and in every part of the United States, whose laws govern this site that is a juvenile and therefore unsuitable for adults to have some conversations with or introduce them to things their parents wouldn’t want them to know yet.

Okay, we’re all working to make sure we follow the rules and make this a safe and friendly place, even for teenagers.

Then today a new thread is started and I confess I had no ideal what device it referred to but since the thread said it was used for “electrical stimulation and branding and scaring” that was enough for me to figure out this conversation was going to be too adult for the kiddies.

The poster asked if any other users of the device where on here and about their personal uses of it. The next poster was a Dominar who agreed that he owned one, but didn’t state his use for it.

The thread quickly went off target as most assumed by wand; he was referring to a wooden wand used by the magic practioners here. Guess they missed the branding and scaring part.

Eventually the author had to explain that was not what he was referring to. One poster kindly linked the wikipeda definition for the device and I went and read about it. It stated plainly the “medical” uses for the device were bogus and even told about it being used by hairdressers.

At this point a light bulb went off for me for I went to cosmetology school, many years ago and was introduced to the device there though by a different name. There the use was to stimulate the scalp for hair growth. We all had to try it and using ourselves as the insulator before touching the client, I did not find it a pleasant feeling.

Shortly afterwards other posters (my friends to be truthful) posted that they did not feel this conversation was appropriate for a site that has been doing a lot of work to make it safe for the underage users. That’s when I learned something new about VR. A Consul posts after them and tells them that since they do not have any title on VR, they have no right to speak against anything.

Isn’t that interesting? You must carry a title now to speak your opinion. I must admit I find that more offensive than anything I’ve ever heard here. A simple member’s opinion is now to be discounted because they may disagree with someone of importance here.

I confess that I am quite angry and the more I think of it, the worse it’s getting. I freely admit to being a rule follower and having no problem with this site not being a democracy. I guess that it had to happen eventually, that some of the gloss of vampire rave would be worn off but I certainly never saw it coming in this manner. From someone who has been very silent in the time I have been here, what a way to announce your presence. Welcome to the Rave, indeed.

Guess I should have though longer about it.

Last night I submitted my first ever poll request and it was refused. I'm not upset or anything like that, well other than at myself for doing it wrong. I was curious about how others feel about the US press and how their right's seem to have overtaken individual rights here. I didn't want to make a sandbox thread cause it would just end up being lots of the same I agree type responses. But it wasn't pertaining to VR and so it was rightly refused. I had read the VR manual and it didn't say the polls had to be strictly VR related, but it does make sense. I'll know better next time.

Funny part of it is today is the day I'm eligible to re-take the acolyte test and I've been pondering if I should or not. I just needed 1 more right last time but since then I've wondered if I truly know enough to be of help. I'm not a htlm type person but I do have my fair share of common sense which usually works well with most people. I can and have read the vr manual and understand how things are ment to work, I think. I was hoping writing this down would help me make up my mind about re-testing but I'm still undecided. Guess I'd better think some more on it.

It's April and the hoopla has already started. I can't turn on the tv without something about the Derby being on. Keenland is running adds pretty heavy too. I love Spring and the return of the warmth and the green grass. But The Derby will soon take over as everyone will be either trying to get to it or to a party for it. Well except for those of us trying to avoid it all. Derby Parties are a big thing in this state. But where else will you find over 125 year old event here in the states. Even if it is a Horse race and yes that capital H is right. 1st leg of the triple crown and Churchill Downs is a beautiful place. Kick in the ivy clad rock walls around Keenland racetrack and you'll find some of the most beautiful sights here in Ky.

I'm getting this off my chest so I suggest you pass it by.

Do you ever wonder at your place in the scheme of things? I do that quite a bit, not that I ever get any good answers to my questions but for some reason I keep looking. Lately I’ve been wondering about what my purpose is here on VR. Am I bringing anything to the table? Well other than favor, as that’s all I can see myself as good for right now.

I am not as smart as most people here and I certainly don’t have their imaginations when it comes to some of the questions they ask in the forums. I’m a small town woman, went to work straight from high school and never walked on the wild side. My appreciation for the darkness comes from years and years of working overnight and still feeling more active and inspired during the overnight hours.

I have a deep love for movies and novels dealing with the supernatural especially vampires and werewolves as when I was young these were the only horror movies we had to watch. Yes I predate color television. But what do I contribute to the community here on the rave since I’ve eliminated knowledge.

I happily endeavor to assist new comers to the site but there again my abilities are limited when they eventually want to delve deeper into the language of computers. I am a user of computers not a programmer and truthfully while I could probably make myself learn how to do it, I just don’t want to and at this stage in my life that’s important to me.

I read the journals of dozens of people here and often will send them messages of congratulations, sympathy or encouragement depending on their entries, but that’s just my way so there again no real contribution to the site.

Don’t anyone go getting upset, I’m not thinking of leaving, I’m too selfish for that, as I love it here. But sometimes I feel I take much more than I give back and I don’t enjoy that feeling. I have met so many people to admire here, those whom intelligence I admire, whose humor and wit brings me joy and those whose true hearts give me hope for the future. They range in ages, gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality and religion yet they all seem to have one thing that binds them together. Funny how it’s an enjoyment and fascination with vampires and other children of the night.

I feel like I should apologize for not submitting more whatever it is that I should be giving but as you can tell it’s so lacking that I cannot even recognize it. I have felt this way for a while now and thought at first it might just be a bit of depression talking but as it’s lasted this long, I think it’s probably my true feelings coming out. I’m hoping by writing them down I can let it go and get back to being happy with the little I do contribute.

Here is better

The Va Tech Shootings are on everyone's mind. Even here on VR there are many who are glued to their browsers or tv's to catch the latest news.

I am doing the same but I'm also catching some information from my former workmates at the local police department. The police wire carries information that I trust more than the tv.

The police are now saying they are fairly sure the same gunman did all the shootings, the why is still unknown.

I want to thank Khayman for her "rant" in the forum thread, as a former police dispatcher, I am probably too sensitive at how quickly everyone wants to blame the police for not locking down the school and thus saving the other lives.

Here in the US, the harsh truth is that the police respond to a domestic violence call every few minutes. It is one of the most common crimes here. It is not reasonable to expect the police to shut down every school, business or public building for each and every such crime. Yes they will if they believe further violence is planned or a manhunt is underway in that area but otherwise the public itself would refuse to cooperate.

There are always going to be those who want to blame the cops and already a professor who was locked up in his 2nd floor office of the building where so many of his students died is claiming it took the police too long to break into the building.

Funny he's upset that the police didn't run into the fire fight fast enough to suit him but then he was hiding at the time so how does he actually know how fast they got inside or where they had to find entry since the gunman had chained up the doors.

Since this was an engineering school, reckon they had bolt cutters on the inside, might the professor have been a braver man and tried to remove the chains to let students escape or the police inside, did he even try to get any other students into his office for safety before locking himself in and hiding.

He's so quick to throw stones at the police for not running into a gunfight faster but why wasn't he a braver man? Luckily he'll never have to stand before the whole world like the police officers and try to explain himself. The pause an officer might have taken to think of his own wife and kids before entering a situation that could easily end his life isn't allowed in the public's eyes.

Not one person talks about how it feels for those cops who may very well have known many of those students to go inside to find their dead bodies or to carry outside by hand the wounded, crying and bleeding. Yes I'm angry and I wouldn't post to the thread in fear of it getting away from me as it no doubt has but I cannot stand those who stand in safety and pick on the ones who truly chanced their lives to try and rescue those kids.

It reminds me of 9/11, how short was the memories of those that watched the police and firemen go into those buildings when a sane person would be running hard the other way. Forgive me for being upset but until someone has truly risked his/her life for another especially a stranger they have no right to critize ones who do.

Was over at the Rat's tonight and she, birdie and I got to watch a movie. We watched Happy Feet and had a wonderful evening. I usually end up watching all the kids shows with my neice and nephews but in this case I had missed it. I really just wasn't attracted to the movie for some reason. As usual I was wrong it was quite fun and with Robin Williams doing a couple of the character's voices it was very funny. Add that it had a great soundtrack with some of my favorite old rock songs and well it definately made my feet tap. Thanks you two for having me with you.

I am that worst of things here on VR, a journal reader who will actually message the writer and talk with them about their entries. Sometimes it's just to say Congratulations or Get well soon or Don't let the big dogs get to you if I think it will help. I like to support other people when they deserve someone saying Way to go or Don't stop now. It may be their poetry or story writing or their hunt for a job they can like. It's not any one thing really and strangely to them probably I am not necessarily seeking their friendship, if we should get to talking and find we want to continue that, cool if not that's okay too. I will no doubt keep reading and run across them again sometime. I have done this with members of all levels and positions and have never had one person to be rude to me for it. Some do not wish to pursue any conversation and just say Thanks or Ok. But I have to admit sometimes I let my mind get to torturing me with thoughts of how rude I'm being to bother folks that don't know me and most likely don't want to. lol You know those sort of thoughts that make me think I use journals as a form of Stalking. Scares me sometimes.

No option for me

There's a poll open about what you want to change about the Hangman game. There are several options all changing the point values of the games making longer words worth more and such. There is no vote for leave it the heck alone. I find the game enjoyable just as it is and the rewards are fine. You get a point if you win but don't loose any if you miss, think on it this way if it was made to offer more points but also to take them away for misses how many of those for the changes would still be so for them?

*note that may have gotten weird* Based on the way my dear friend the Rat plays she'd end up owing favor. lol Love ya sis. But really the game is fine as it is and more than fair. I do wish there were other games to play than just hangman and 5's but not being a computer genius nor imaginative enough I have no ideal what they could be. Leave it alone folks and just play it as it is, please.

Funnies

Only kids could come up with these answers.

What, you ask, is "Butt Dust"? Read on and you'll discover the joy in a sincere originality.

No adult is this creative!!

JACK (age 3) was watching his Mom breast-feeding his new baby sister. After

a while he asked: "Mom why have you got two? Is one for hot and one for cold milk?"

MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old

she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, "If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six ."

STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom good night. "I love you so much that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window."

BRITTANY (age 4) had an earache and wanted a pain killer. She tried! in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: "How does it know it's me?"

SUSAN (age4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. "Please don't give me this juice again," she said, "It makes my teeth cough."

DJ (age 4) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: "How much do I cost?"

MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing

in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad:

"Why is he whispering in her mouth?"

CLINTON (age5) was in his bedroom looking worried. When his Mom asked what was

troubling him, he replied, "I don't know what'll happen with this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in?"

JAMES (age4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: "The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt.

Concerned, James asked: "What happened to the flea?"

TAMMY (age4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman

her Mom knew. Tammy looked at her for a while and then asked, "Why

doesn't your skin fit your face?"

The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget...! . this particular Sunday

sermon..."Dear Lord," the minister began, with arms extended toward

heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. "Without you, we are but dust..." He would have continued but at that moment my very

obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, "Mom, what is

butt dust?"

Fun Night

Was over at my sissy's tonight, she fixed me a great supper (thanks sis) That girl can really cook and she gets me to eat things fixed in ways I never would usually try. Then we went to working on her laptop, going to learn how to change the music when we wanted to but we've been stumped since all 3 of us have been unable to log into fileden.com for several days. Weird deal there. Anyway Kay got a tip from Requiem (thanks you wonderful lady) and so we tried it out and shazamm it worked great. Only a couple of stumbles before we had it down pat. Both of us, now I really thought she was going to kill me when she found out I had joined a music service for her. (whew) But it had the song we needed and worked slick. Kiss our hineys fileden! Anyway we had a blast and it's so nice to be with someone who doesn't act like I'm weird just because I get into computer stuff. Then I got plumb sick of the activex problem on her laptop and had to find the cure. Took longer than I expected but it finally worked. YEA!!!!

Now I'm home and about to head for bed but feeling really good since what I wanted to do worked so well. Only problem was birdie wasn't there to cheer with us.

Gotta love working with the Birdie

The Rat’s Comeuppance

Now the birdie and I (cat) were very nice this past winter and didn’t try to restrict the Rat’s prayers, spells and demands for snow even though neither of us are as fond of it as Rattie! But we played nice buddies and didn’t try to undo her hopes. But it is now 6 days into April and last week we had temps in the upper 80’s Fahrenheit and now today she has cast her Rattie little spell and the temperature is 22 F and it’s frigging Snowing!

Therefore the bird and I have decided to retaliate. Now everyone be very quiet for we don’t want to tip the Rat off to our plans.

The bird is going to fly over and check out the situation while I slip up on the ground. Now the Rat doesn’t think much of my stalking skills but she has never really seen me trying to sneak up on anyone, as I’m usually too upfront a person to stoop to that sort of thing. But this snowfall calls for drastic action and I will lower myself to her standards. I have an ice chest full of crushed ice and that Rat is going to find out just how uncomfortable being cold and wet feels.

Birdie: Rat is spotted standing just off the back porch, looking up at the snow as she laughs and dances in celebration.

Cat: Okay hold your position, I’m on approach from the rear of the porch. Silence now as I make my move.

--------------Long quiet moment--------followed by splash and sudden screeching and yelling and cussing---

Cat: I’m on the run before she calms down enough to chase after me. Hold your position overhead but don’t let her spot you or she’ll shoot you down for sure.

Now you happy Rat, you know how us cold natured friends feel.

Okay my sisters, listen up.

For a couple of days now I've read where my dear sisters are talking about being the first one listed on the frapper map. Darlings it's not going back and forth listing first one then the other of you first. When you click on it, it is automatically showing you first if you have put yourself on it. That's why you pop up first. Now I thank you for the entertainment as you fussed about it but I cannot let it go on any longer. :)

*puts soapbox up*

I must admit I read the quotes people say and a lot of them are either nasty or make little sense to me or they are typed in that up/down way that just tickes me off but I just ran into this one

*{LoVe SuCkS}* and since this is a vampire site that's just plain silly.
