A/N: this isn't personal experience, just something i got inspired to write. please tell me what you think, i would be glad to hear it.
i walked along the side of shore and watch the waves raise and fall. sound of them slapping the soft sand, sea birds and breeze... all to familiar. how i feel small compared to this ocean...
it has been 30 years... 30 years that i come here every sun set....
looking at the ocean i locked my eyes on the setting sun,
"do you know why the sun sets red?" the male voice echoed... and i could see the couple sitting not too far away from where i stood, i walked closer to them...
"light is made up of many colors, and between them, red is the one that travels the farthest." he added with a smile i could see on his lips.... that smile.
"like i asked!" the girl said with a laugh, hitting him playfully, he chuckled back.
i just stood there, watch them sitting right in front of me, smiling that bitter smile as tears rolled down my eyes,
"you will come back soon, right?" the girl asked after her laugh, i could feel the concern in her voice.
"of course i will!" the boy answered quickly. "you just have to wait for me here, at this time, and one day soon, i will return." he added with a smile. she smiled back.
she was a fool, so was he. talking about future like they had a clue...
i closed my eyes, finally daring myself to give in to the pressure of tears in my eye.
when i opened them, the two were no longer there. looking to the water surface, some miles away, i saw a figure.
it was the boy, standing on the water. he was smiling, still that charming smile...
nothing had changed in him... that black neck long hair, blue shining eyes and young face.
i raise a hand to touch my old skin, white hair and the no longer exciting smile.
"you promised to come back..." i mouthed, "and i always do, everyday. you know that." he mouthed back.
he was right, he always did. he was my Sprite of the sea after all...
