The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Its only been the first week, but man its been insane. To start out, Monday for brunch, we had 56 students that morning and it went down from there, as they were finding their routine for their classes in the morning. We still had about 18 or so this morning.

Lunch and Dinner is where it gets INSANE.

We've had a 50% increase in students this year. Not only are the dorms filled to capacity, but the school has students staying in hotels as well. Also, Lunch and Dinner...

Lunch has been the most INSANE. We have been doing anywhere to 100-140+ plus and man, that's a lot compared to last year. Today, the cashier was telling me he had to turn students away, due to no seating in the dinning room area. The girls wanted to sit on the floor and he told them no, due to that being a health and fire hazard as well. People could darn well stomp on them if they chose to if we had a fire or something of the sorts.

Dinner is capping out at least at 130 from the looks of it. Its still insane and crazy.

I'm running grill this year and lets just say, the students don't have to wait for sandwiches to be made. I'm literally as fast as they come and have been keeping up the past couple of days.

My schedule is another thing...this week alone, probably 40+ hours. Due to no morning dishwasher.

Monday was 11am-6:30pm
Tuesday-Thursday- 7am-7:30pm
Today (Friday) - 7am-6:30pm

Yes I get breaks, but man its been a lot on everyone as well. The amount of food we have been cooking has been increased due to the amount of students.

So I haven't been posting much...I've been either sick or insanely busy with things at work and at home.


The first week....My husband was sick and at home with Covid. I ended up getting covid in the end as well which was not fun. Luckily at the time, I wasn't working. I did end up quitting my summer job. Just because how careless they got and how they ended up not caring for me. So, how this came about was due to the AC going out at work. I only worked TWO DAYS A WEEK. Just to help with the bills and other things that needed to be covered. Well, come to find out, the rest of those days I was off, the AC had gone out. So, I get to work on a Monday and nearly ended up passing out due to heat exhaustion. I was also working the dish area that night, so the hot water and hot steam did not help.

Luckily, the maintenance person saw what I looked like and put a fan in my area. It helped for a bit. I ended up not showing up the following day due to that and not feeling good the previous night. Which i was throwing up as well. I just couldn't do it anymore. So, fast forward to my husband and I getting over Covid finally. After a week or so. We ended up getting two more rehome ferrets. Hank and Doodle. Which, I will be adding their photos to my portfolio as well. The backstory with those two is as followed: The original owner ended up having health issues and ended up giving birth to a premi baby. Well, she ended up giving Hank and Doodle to a friend and they ended up not being able to take care of them either due to their dogs and their kids as well. So they got in contact with me via facebook due to a post. I spoke to my husband and we agreed to take these two.

They have been so much fun. Doodle, who is a girl, bonded to me. Hank bonded to my husband. We plan to do a lot more for the babies. Now we have three young ferrets. Freya who is about 2, Doodle and Hank are 1 1/2yr old and Suki is about 7 or so. We've been busy with these four, but wouldn't change it for the world.

I did end up having to work last Friday to do prep for an event that happened back on Monday (8/19/2024). Had to work today to put a small truck away and then have to work Friday. Meeting and then a truck as well. Its going to be busy that day with new hires as well. Training them and everything. I'm excited about going back. I don't think I have been so excited about going back to a job. Most jobs I hated with a passion. This one? I love it.
