One of my oldest pieces that used to describe me a lot.



Mask



There you are again,

Hiding behind your mask-



Always putting on a display,

Deceiving people including your family-



The front reflects what you should be,

The back shows your problems-



Lying constantly to yourself,

Shielding yourself from pain and sorrow-



People hold you highly,

If they really knew, they would run-



Outside you are fine,

Inside your soul tormented-



To the world you are perfect,

In reality you are a venomous serpent-

I find my self alone with nothing but my thoughts, they haunt my days and plague my dreams, more often than not. I remember everything, I cannot let it go, I hide my pain with a smile, so it doesn't show. I act like everything is great and life is wonderful for me. But there are scars hidden away from you, that the naked eye cannot see. I've become the master of pretending, hiding pain that's never ending. This act, well, it's a full time job and I'm working overtime and off the clock. I think about how selfish it really is to feel the way I do, I've been blessed beyond measure, and that I know is true. But the tears never stop flowing, this flower is not growing. The sun, it doesn't shine under the shade of the weeds, and they are simply sucking the life out of me. Strangled and gasping for air, I reach out, but no one is there. I've begged them all to stay, and I've pushed them all away. I've given up more times than I can recall. I've waived my white flag, lost the ability to stand tall. I've been a quitter, I've been weak, unable to find the answers I seek. The weight of the world is heavy, and my shoulders aren't so strong, this is what they expected all along. Failure, stares me down, and my pride has washed away. More weight is added, every single day. What to do? What is left? WHERE AM I BURIED UNDERNEATH THIS MESS? I tell myself, I've always been the under dog, so this is nothing new. I've always made it out on top, I've always pulled through. I've always been the rock for everybody else, and I could save the world, if I could only save myself.

I learned a hard lesson over the past few weeks...as much as we think we can save the world - we can only do it if we take care of ourselves first.

Well this past week has been absolutely crazy. I ended up having to fly out to Denver for work. Upon leaving the airport my suitcase broke and I ended up lugging it two blocks once my cab arrived to the hotel. While in town I visited the new age shopped and browsed around a bit before grabbing some crystals for when I get back home. I've been to Denver before back in 2008 a lot has changed since then. For starters there is actually a goth music scene. While on my stay a caught one show the band was pretty good but after talking to the guys from the band it was clear they do it for the love not fame. Which is something you rarely find in music now days. It inspired me to get myself back in gear and start writing again and work on some projects that have been on the shelf for a while now. Guess it was a good day .

Well this is a short intro to what will become a look into thoughts and daily musings. I will post some of my personal poetry and possible art work on here. I will try a lot to update much as possible as I work on a constant basis.



Currently I am working on a few short story pieces that are based in the realm of steampunk. Steam has been my latest venture into writing and as of late. I have always been interested in the subculture but as of late have dived heavily into it. Whether it be the fashion or the science behind all of it is truly captivating. I'm sure this year I will be doing a tour of conventions so stay tuned.
