I Am Damned

by Neclord666

It was the night before Halloween, Devils Night or so I was told from the homeless on the street. I was on my way to pick up my girlfriend, my love. But my car ran out of gas six blocks away. I am forced to walk through the allies of the Dallas ghetto. It was cold and misty. Her house is only four blocks away. But wait I think I see her in the shadows. It is her! What could she be doing on a night like tonight? I continued to walk towards her. When I got to her she acted like she didn't know me.

"Breanna are you ok?" I said.

She continued to ignore me.

"Breanna what's going on?"

I finally got a glimpse of her face under the full moon. It couldn't be her. Her face was pale and clammy. Her eyes as red as fire, And her K-9s' have been enlarged. Could it be? Could this have happened? It was so she has been damned.

I screamed. I could not believe that my one and only love has been damned to hell. I had to end my loves pain. I had to kill her. I took out my .45 and cocked it. In a flash she disappeared. I caught sight of her again next to the dumpster and the crack heads. I had to end it. I had to save her. But I couldn't move. Some power was keeping me from moving any body part of my own. Have I been possessed? I saw a shadow out of the corner of my right eye. Who was this person? I saw a flash of light, then nothing.

I could feel myself lying on the ground but I could not move. I had a sharp pain on the right side of my neck. I could feel my blood dripping down my neck but I could do nothing to stop it. Is this the end of me? Would I ever see Breanna again? I had to. I had to free her from the pain that has befallen her. I passed out from the pain.

I awoke to find myself under the care of a priest. I asked him what had happened, where Breanna was. He said nothing. I found myself in rage. Throwing things at the priest. I finally calmed down. The priest had said I needed to rest. I obeyed. I fell asleep rather quickly. But it wasn't pleasant at all. I was having nightmares. I saw the shadow leading Breanna away. I saw fangs flash in front of my face. I heard hissing, screaming, yelling. But I could not wake up. Then all the noises stopped. Then I saw a building. Wait, I KNOW THAT BUILDING! It was the abounded church next to Breanna's house. I had to go there. I wake up. I had to save her. The images faded. I was alone in the dark. It was peaceful but oh so lonely. The nightmare stopped. I could move again. I was finally awake. I had to go to the abounded church. I left without saying anything to the kind priest. As I was walking to the church I saw a newspaper in a garbage can. It was the fourth day of January. Could I have been asleep that long? I was hungry. But I did not want to eat. I had a thrust. But I was not thirsty. I could not explain this new feeling. I could see the church. It was about three blocks away. I was compelled to enter. When I finally got to the front door I saw stairs off to the side. I was going to sneak in. The stair led me into the basement. I saw alters, candles, mirrors, and bibles. It smelled like rotting corpses. There was no light, only the light from the candles. I could see shadows moving in the background. I finally saw the ones casting the shadows. But I did not see their reflection in any of the mirrors. What was going on? Where they all damned? I walked to get closer. I looked in a mirror. I saw nothing. Could it be that I am damned? Could it be that I am a vampyre? No I can't, it's impossible. I must still be sick. I stumbled and fell. I was in trouble for they have heard me. The next thing I knew I was strapped to a chair. They kept asking what I was doing in their sacred grounds. I did not answer. All I could think about is where Breanna was. Finally I asked them.

"Where is Breanna?"

"Where is my beloved?"

They paused. Another walked down from the stairs. I assumed this was their leader. She was quite beautiful.

"Hello Shawn." she said.

"How do you know my name?" I said.

"I know many things." she said.

"Where is Breanna?" I said.

She didn't answer.

"Where is Breanna?" I said again.

"I know not where she went; only that someone from the Assamite clan was leading her back to the East." She said.

"We of clan Brujah are warriors and brutes, idealists and iconoclasts. And will help you on your journey."

She hesitated.

"For a price." She said.

What price is this? What could she want from me?

Then she told me.

"I want you to take the blood oath of the Brujah clan." She said.

What could this mean? Blood oath of the Brujah clan? I was Confused. I didn't know what it meant. So I asked her.

"What does that mean?" I said.

"It means you must drink my blood, and join us in the fight to stay alive." She said.

"What do you mean?" I said.

"The Brujah clan is almost extinct. We need your help to survive." She said.

"Why me im just a mortal?" I said.

"Really, take a look in the mirror and tell me what you see." She said.

I did as she said. But I did see something, not my reflection but my soul. It was leaving my body. I wasn't sick, I was damned. I agreed. I would do anything to get Breanna back. So I told her that I would do what she had asked. She looked pleased. She took out her athame and cut her wrist. Blood was gushing out. I drank. It was like I was possessed I could not help myself. I just couldn't stop. The weird felling had gone. I felt stronger, faster, my eyes were sharper. It's like I could see in the dark.

"Lestat will accompany you." Serenity said.

"All I can tell you are the vampyre that took her was Neclord. He is a powerful vampyre not to be messed with lightly. You must be careful. Last I heard he was heading east to New York." she said.

I thanked her for the information and Lestat and I left. We finally found our way to New York. It was February tenth. Only four days until Valentine's Day. That was the day I was to purpose to my beloved Breanna. I felt so alone. So depressed.

"Let’s get going already! It's almost dawn!" Lestat said.

This surprised me because it was the first thing he had said to me since we left Dallas.

We found an abandoned house to rest in. But I didn't. I couldn't bring myself to rest while Neclord has control over Breanna. I knew there was nothing I could do until nightfall. I collapsed out of exhaustion. The nightmares came back. But I was seeing New York instead of Dallas. Why was I seeing these images in my head? I saw a Neclord talking to a homeless man. Then I saw Breanna walking mindlessly behind him. They both walked into a giant warehouse. Where could they be? I woke up to Lestat slapping me across the face. It was time to go, but go where all we knew was they were here in New York. So we wondered around. Our hunger started to boil. We had to feed and soon.

We walked into an alley only to find them empty. Our hunger was rising by the minute.
