Neera

11:10 Feb 25 2009
Times Read: 603

General Comments:

I love drawing fae. It's interesting to draw them, simply because there are so many of them. No one fae is similar to another. Neera was especially fun to draw, more so because she was nekkid! *silly blush* I drew Neera herself on paper, using the usual affects: Pencil & Pen; then I scanned her onto the computer and completely redid the line art. I have found, that doing line arts on the computer gives it a much cleaner look and an all around better feel. It also gives me the inspiration to add more and better details. Cha! *nod nod* This is the first time that I've ever added a beam of light to a picture so I hope it looks alright. ^.^"

For my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Melissa, who wanted me to spread this around, Yes, I did actually-amongst the tons of layers that it took to create this picture-have a layer titled, "Nipple!" HAHA *claps* There really isn't a nipple in this image though. ^.^"

There Molfie...I said it! Gawrsh!

A Description of Fae & Fairies:

Fae, or FAY in folklore, is a term used to symbolize any humanoid figure that is not human. They may be paranormal, magical, or considered either Angels or Demons. The most common Fae we see now are Fairies. Fae, like fairies, generally have human-like features, however, they are magical, and come in all shapes and sizes. From Brownies, to Changelings, to Elves, they are found in various cultures under various names. The Greek Nymph, and the Japanese Kitsune are two different types of Fae.

The character seen above, happens to be a fae. She is very small. You will see that I have stated her as being a fairy, however, I did not add wings. The original stories of the small fairies, originated with small creatures, varying in sizes from less than a foot tall, to the stature of a small child, who did not have wings. In fact, the wings on Fairies were only added in the Victorian era, whereas earlier renditions of fairies went without. The earlier fairies, were said to use magic to fly, or would sit either on the stem of a ragwort plant, or upon a bird. Some people often assumed that their diminutive size was not constant, rather, also a product of magic, and that they could change their stature at will. Neera, however, cannot. She is permanently small, however, she can fly. Someday soon, I will draw a picture of her flying.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Character Information:
Name: Neera
Age: 250 years old
Height: About a foot tall, give or take a few inches. (She only comes up to about mid-calf.)
Race: Fairy
Personality: Neera is a very very loud person, when she wants to be. She is very shy around strangers, and loves to hide only to randomly pop out and scare anyone she thinks she can scare. AKA, she's a rambunctiously quiet (what an oxymoron O.o) individual who loves to play tricks on people. She is also very curious.
Biography: Being a Fairy, and also very tiny, Neera was always told that she needed to be careful around the big folk. Her family lived in the roots of a tree, and only went out when they needed more food. Neera, however, loved to venture out of their little village, and explore the vast forest in which she lived. As a nocturnal creature, she's only seen what it looked like in the evening, when the mushrooms start glowing, and the flowers are just closing, or already closed. She's met one or two of the large people, (Humans that are normal sized) and found them to be rather interesting.
Family: Neera is the second child out of ten. Yes, I said it right, ten. She has five brothers and four sisters. She is closes to her older brother, Raj (who will be drawn later).
Skills: Neera can fight pretty well, seeing as she often has to defend herself. She can also take the water from certain plants, and some animals at will to use either as drinking water, or to manipulate the growth or movements of said object.
Magic: As stated above, she can manipulate water.
Young Dragon
Times Read: 611
Well, I was sitting behind a desk at my dad's work today, and, I'll admit that I was a little bored. It had been a while since I'd drawn a dragon, so I decided to draw one. Enjoy.
EDIT: Apparently, the paper I drew this on was too big for my scanner, and so, a side or two got cut off just a tad. Fortunately, the dragon was unharmed! *nod nod*
Miss Scarlett
06:37 Feb 13 2009
Times Read: 612
HORRAY! A fan art from a classic game...CLUE! This is my little version of Miss Scarlett. I'm a part of a joint art shop on Gaia that has a "Cluedo" theme to it, and my portion is Miss Scarlett. So I decided to draw her out. WEWT! The tattoo on her back is the logo for the game.
Character Information: Miss Vivienne Scarlett/Scarlet (in the North American version) is the stock Femme Fatale character. She is typically portrayed as young, cunning, and highly attractive. When the game was made in 1949, she was a beautiful blonde. A 1972 redesign of her features led to speculation that she was of Asian ethnicity, which lasted for over 25 years. In the 1996 version, Miss Scarlett appears a sinister-looking, clearly Caucasian brunette. In some scenarios, she is billed as the niece/step-niece (and theoretical heir) of Dr. Black. In various other situations, commonly in American, Scarlett is, or was, a long-term girlfriend of Black/Boddy. On the Cluedo game show, Miss Scarlet has become the step-daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Peacock where she becomes simply a viable bachelorette who has many men enter and leave her life. Cluedo canon nearly always states her occupation as an actress whose career is beginning to decline, or has never taken off to start with due to her lack of talent. She is commonly portrayed have had numerous affairs with Colonel Mustard and the other male characters and she uses this information to blackmail them, although more often and not, Miss Scarlett and the Colonel are usually friends/parners-in-crime.
Like the previous picture, I have no idea why I chose the name for her, but it had been a while since I had done shading in the Cross-hatching style, and so, I decided to do so. The hair is a little messy, but oh well.
Here's an avatar art I did for a friend. He was also a customer at my art shop on Gaiaonline.com. He always has a dark avi, which sorta makes me mad, because then I have to come up with creative ways to make it so that you can tell the difference between various different spots on his avi. Oh well. Here's the art.
So I was thinking, "WTH? I Don't have a Deviant ID." But I totally could, yes? But what would I do; could I do that would portray my most reknown character, the one that I always use, in her most innocent form. And then I thought, FIREFLIES! She could be looking at fireflies! Horray!
So Yeah. I present to you...NARTINA! AKA...me. She's my alter-ego.
My Addiction
06:20 Feb 13 2009
Times Read: 623
So recently, what with being home like all the damn time, I have taken to not just drawing to fill my day, but playing video games like crazy. This picture is dedicated to all of those gamers out there who feel like they're going to just die if they don't win the damn game. I don't know why I had her use a joy stick instead of a normal controller, maybe because I felt like it? I'm not sure. Maybe, it's because I suck at drawing controllers in the first place, so a joystick is what she is using to play with.
This picture in a way, brings out four different addictions/obsessions of mine: Video Gaming Flipflops that don't match (hence the purple on the left foot and the green for the right foot), Plushies, and smoking.
The plushie is another drawing sort of incorporated into this one, because it seemed to suit her. Actually, it'll be the next deviation I submit, since I'll be submitting it right after this. Normally, I don't submit deviations so close to one another, but this time it was because I wanted something else to add to the picture, drew the plushie, then colored it while it was big...you probably saw the line art which is right here: [link]
The Warlock
This picture, took a while to draw! Fortunately, when I drew it, I had some idea in, my mind how I wanted it to look. The coloring of it took no time at all. I used a blue pallet for this picture, in effort to make it seem as though he didn't ever go outside in the daylight hours, considering that warlocks study dark magick.
