Is it just me or does real life feel like its not even real anymore?

To clarify, I mean the sheer absurdity of what has been going in terms of social behavior, news and the cancel culture. It seems like something out of a film, tv series or commercial that parodies social and political behavior by making them extreme and over the top. But it seems to be the current reality and hiliriously its the left that has now gone crazy, the ones that once had a good cause.

This change is more apparent to us old folks, where we are used to seeing some level of civility, rational debates and reasonability.

Now however, simple opinions get you and your career destroyed, having a different view to the status quo makes you the worst kind of monster and so on. Can't have rational discussions anymore, instead folks get silenced.

Take Gina Carano for example, I saw her posts and tweets, they are hardly worth her getting fired over. Her posts weren't even that bad, the worst you could she did was the jewish comparison but the point she made there was correct. Humans are indeed getting mobbed just for having different views.

Fact is, there is a lot of things different folks do that someone out there is going to find offensive or consider not to their liking. That doesn't mean they should have their careers destroyed and it certainly doesn't make them monsters, they are just individuals with their own views and that should be respected.

There is a difference between outright offensive posts/tweets and posts/tweets that can just merely offend some people. Gina Carano was the latter and yet still she became a victim of cancel culture. Like I said, everyone can find something offensive but it doesn't mean tthat it actually is universally offensive. These are the actions of self rightous assholes who love playing victims, love finding reasons to be angry and love to be a part of groups that reward their shouting and getting people fired. These are people who have no meaning in their lives and so they want to be a part of something, even if it is toxic.

Consider the common group of bullies who go around bullying folks, some members of that group are not actual bullies by nature but become a part of it to avoid being targeted themselves or to fit in, this results in them taking on the bullying behaviour of the actual bullies. It is the same with what is going on now.

Snowflakes as they pretty much are, were brought up wrong and were not taught to respect others, they need to grow thicker skin (or more accurate just skin), they need to stop finding reasons to be offended, stop being offended on someone else's behalf, and more importantly they need to practise what they are suppose to preach, tolerance.

Once upon time I remember it was the rational left trying to get tolerance from the further right but not it is left that is extremely intolerant.

I apologize for how convulated this is and any mistakes, I just wrote this in the moment after thinking about how bad things are getting.

Civility is degenerating and the lack of self-awareness is baffling.
