She looks toward the horizon

He was there

somewhere

Once more

Along the shore



She was lost again

She thought he was her friend

He was gone

She turned away

It was another day



The scars burned

Deep within

She cried hot tears

They were from her fears



He knew the truth

Those battle scars

Hidden deep within

Never to be seen again



Fading away

As if they never were

Just a dream

Unheard, unseen



She looks toward the horizon

Her battle scars burn deep within

He knows the truth

But he lies to her once again

She is so tired

Her eyes close to the sun's strong glare

Lying on the warm soft sand

No one knows she is there



Images fill her mind

Of all the days gone by

Of all the things she has done

And through it all

She still wonders why



She has tried so hard

To be kind and good to all

Without a thought of anything in return

But neither did she expect to be burned



She withdrew into herself for such a long time

Hidden from the world, from it's evil prying eyes

Until one day she decided to try again

Even thought she would try again to have a friend



But soon she discovered nothing had changed

The world was still an evil place

No matter what she did or said

People were still selfish, uncaring: it was a damn disgrace



So she put on her faceless mask

So she could fit in for awhile

So she could laugh and joke with all of them

So she could paint her face with an evil smile



In the end that was just not her

She is just so tired

She is lying on the warm soft sand

No one knows she is there

So why are there people all around her?
