...and I guess those few who keep up with my journal, I am alive and as well as can be expected. I'm getting back on my feet after getting knocked down pretty hard and will be getting 'back in the saddle' here soon. I probably won't write much here but I'll catch everyone up to the extent that I feel is appropriate. I'll also be catching up with lots of people and forum threads and the like. The VR craving is becoming too much to ignore so I'll be getting a big dose of it here soon. Thanks all who expressed concern and interest in my well-being!

I've just discovered something so heart wrenching it's almost beyond description how it's making me feel.

...you're watching a commercial without any words, just a series of really beautiful sunsets and then at the end the voice over finally tells you what you've been looking at are sun RISES!

Ok, rant time. It's a minor thing so not really such a big deal in the grand scheme of things but, I just have to vent and I'm going to do so where I'm guessing more than a couple of people will be able to relate.



There's a trend I've noticed in just the past year or so and it needs to be stopped. I'd like to join the police force just to hand out citations for this behavior though sadly I doubt this is an actual infraction. What has me so riled up?



Using. Highbeams. When. Unncessary!!!!



Seriously - we're in a town/city. The amount of "light pollution" in the northeast is legendary. And yet. YET! I have to regularly contend with some asshat who has his/her high beams on for absolutely no apparent reason!



I will be the first to confess that my night vision is considerably more acute than the average humans. I get that. But when I have to wear sunglasses at night in order to avoid being blinded by half the cars either passing me or behind me.....?



If you're that afraid of the driving in dark and/or that blind, you need to stay home. Get off the road. Wait until the next day. Take a cab. Let someone else drive. ANYTHING BUT USE YOUR FREAKIN' HIGHBEAMS GOING DOWN WELL LIT INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS!
