Well for those that know me, they will know that at the moment I don't lead the most interesting of lives, just a normal uni student with a few extra interests on the side.
Well nothing much changes, got nothing much to rant about apart from this one issue, it's called respect.
Now if you look in my profile you will see that I'm a part time soldier, which means that I also get a lot of flak for it, not because of who I am, but because what I have chosen to do. Now don't get me wrong, I've not been out to any hot and sandy places, but I've still be called a murderer. Now I'm sure most people on here know to seperate a war from the soldiers fighting it, you can support the troops without supporting the war, but it seems a fair few people can't.
I'm active on several forums and recently there has been a trend of some people bashing the troops on there, reports of injured servicemen getting abuse shouted at them during a rehabilitation session at a local pool etc. I'm just going to finish this little soapbox moment with a quote, paraphrased from a film (can't remember which one) "You who rise and fall beneath the blanket of freedom I provide, yet you have the gall to question the way I provide it? I don't ask for much, just some respect, and a beer." amen to the last bit.
