After all these wars and years,
I thought I had no more tears,
And I proved myself wrong,
Crying all night long.
Lost in the pain of the day,
I feel the curse begin to take me,
In the end, there’s nothing left to say,
But I try to speak anyway.
Am I right to think this way?
That everything’s falling apart?
What do my words weigh,
In light of the facts?
And in the end, there’s nothing to do,
But watch as the lights die away,
The curse has come,
And with it all my hopes.
But still I try to hold this all together,
Even as it crumbles to dust in my hands,
My tormenter must be laughing at me,
Weighing me down with more hell.
Bound to darkness,
With Heaven in sight,
That is my plight,
That is the curse that binds me still…
