Kari Lake Admits To Lying

15:45 Mar 31 2024
Times Read: 156

Today in Maricopa County Superior Court, Kari Lake, the Lake for Governor Campaign, and the Lake Fundraising Organization conceded their legal liability for defamation of Maricopa County Recorder, Stephen Richer. The Defendants filed a motion with the court asking for an expedited hearing for a default judgment and a hearing to determine the amount of damages to be awarded to Mr. Richer, effectively conceding that they acted with “actual malice” when spreading lies about Mr. Richer.

“After months of doubling down and defending their lies across Arizona, in the media, and on social media, when push came to shove, the Defendants decided to completely back down and concede that their lies were just that: lies,” said Stephen Richer. “Because of their actions, my family and I have faced an endless barrage of threats — including calls for our execution — I have lost close personal relationships, and I have had my reputation irreparably damaged. I have said from the beginning that no one is above the rule of law and today further validates that belief. I look forward to entering the damages phase of this case.”

“With today’s surrender, Ms. Lake and the other Defendants have made it clear that they cannot even attempt to defend the lies that she has said about Mr. Richer,” said Jared Davidson, counsel at Protect Democracy. “Given an opportunity to back up her claims in court, she has instead conceded she has no defense—effectively admitting that she spread lies about Mr. Richer and did so with ‘actual malice.’ The only thing left to do now is to determine the amount of the damage done to Mr. Richer as a result of Defendants’ misconduct.”

“Kari Lake and the other Defendants spread disinformation about Mr. Richer, accusing him of intentionally sabotaging the election so that she would lose,” said Larry Schwartztol, a professor at Harvard Law School, where he directs the Democracy and Rule of Law Clinic. “As made crystal clear by their refusal to defend their own statements, Mr. Richer is entitled to a legally appropriate remedy for the harm their statements have caused him.”

“As we have said again and again, there is no First Amendment right to knowingly or recklessly spread false information about someone,” said Jennifer Windom, a Partner at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP. “Defendants baselessly defamed Mr. Richer for their own gain, and they have tacitly admitted that they have no legal defense for their actions.”

“By permitting a judgment to be entered against her and her co-defendants, Ms. Lake concedes that she intentionally lied about Mr. Richer’s action in the 2022 election that she lost for Governor in Arizona,” said Daniel Maynard, a Partner at Maynard Cronin Erickson & Curran, PLC. “These types of unwarranted attacks on our public servants need to stop. Those who run for public office and lose need to learn to accept defeat with grace rather than falsely attacking those who administer our elections.”

lol.... So election denier Lake has surrendered in her claims about the 2022 Governor's race being stolen from her. lol And now she will have a money judgment entered against her.

Habba Yabba Doo Is In The Shit

13:08 Mar 31 2024
Times Read: 160

By Susie Madrak — March 30, 2024
Alina Habba thinks she's pretty. Like really, really pretty. She can't shut up about how pretty she thinks she is, in fact. But her being a vapid idiot is only part of this video.

Cliff Schecter also gives us Alina's origin story. How a terrible lawyer with so little experience got on Trump's team. All it took was lying to a victim of sexual harassment at Bedminster, Trump's craptastic golf club, and manipulating the woman into taking a pathetic settlement far below what was merited for the suffering she endured -- by pretending to be her friend.

Here the story gets even more intriguing. Habba's now being sued for fraud. And she's in, to use a technical term, serious s*t. Trump and his club are also being sued. Trump's already thrown Habba under the bus. And there is so much more!

Watch Cliff Schecter's video about this whole sordid episode--or just another day ending in Y in Trumpworld--and subscribe to his Youtube channel for more great content like this!

Mango's Scotland Golf Course Was A Grift

12:18 Mar 30 2024
Times Read: 176

Neil Hobday, the former project director for former President Trump’s golf course in Scotland, said the country was “hoodwinked” by his claims that he would spend 1 billion pounds to develop the property.

Hodbay told the British Broadcast Corporation (BBC) that he felt “hoodwinked and ashamed” that he and Scotland fell for Trump’s overestimate.

Trump claimed that he would spend one billion British pounds on the new project, about $1.2 billion. Hobday was the consultant project director for the Trump’s Aberdeenshire golf course, which opened in 2012, BBC News reported.

In 2006, Trump purchased land near Aberdeen. He had planned for the 18-hole course to have a five-star hotel, villas and more, and was supported by the local economy looking for tourism and jobs.

In 2018, Trump’s golf course reportedly “destroyed the vast majority” of protected sand dunes in the area, despite a pledge not to. After opening in 2012, the golf course didn’t live up to its promises, losing millions.

BBC News reported that the Trump Organization said it spent around 100 million pounds on the Aberdeenshire golf resort, but new accounts show the facility has a value of 33.2 million pounds. It’s racked up 13.3 million pounds in losses since opening.

“I don’t think even if he could raise the money to build the whole thing out, he wanted the golf course and that was it,” he said. “He was willing to fight the environmental battle and create this impression that this was a $1 billion project and Scotland absolutely needed it. But I think he never really had the money or the intention of finishing it.”

“I feel very hoodwinked and ashamed that I fell for it and Scotland fell for it. We all fell for it. He was never going to do it,” Hobday said

Trump’s Aberdeenshire course was included in his New York civil fraud case, which found he conspired to alter his net worth to receive better tax and insurance benefits. A judge found Trump liable and ordered him to pay more than $355 million in penalties.

In May 2023, Trump traveled to Scotland to break ground on a new golf course in honor of his mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, who was born in the Isle of Lewis in Scotland.

Georgia Republican Official Caught Voting 9 Times ILLEGALLY

09:19 Mar 30 2024
Times Read: 177

A judge has found Georgia Republican Party official Brian Pritchard guilty of illegally voting nine times over several years. Pritchard has falsely asserted Democrats had stolen the 2020 election through fraud.

Administrative Law Judge Lisa Boggs wrote in her Wednesday decision that Pritchard, the Georgia GOP’s first vice chairman, violated state election laws by voting while on probation for forgery and other felonies, and that his explanations were neither "credible or convincing."

Pritchard must pay a $5,000 fine and $375.14 in investigative costs incurred by the court. Boggs also ordered that Pritchard “be publicly reprimanded for his conduct” by the State Election Board, which sought the sanctions against him.

On Thursday, Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene called on Pritchard to “resign immediately or be removed” from his Georgia GOP position because he “voted ILLEGALLY nine times while serving out his probation for FELONY check forgery.”

“The Republican Party is the party of election integrity,” Greene said on X, formerly Twitter, and “our state party should be the leading voice on securing our elections.”

Forged checks, and claims of a stolen election
Pritchard, a conservative talk show host, has claimed on his FetchYourNews.com show that the 2020 presidential election was fraudulent, echoing claims by former President Donald Trump, who lost in the Peach State and nationwide to Democrat Joe Biden. Trump and 14 co-defendants are currently facing charges of illegally conspiring to overturn the result in Georgia, while four co-defendants have pleaded guilty.

lol... you can't make it up. And GA is one of the states that has tried to make voting more difficult. Well, more difficult for people with darker skin tones.

Alito And Thomas Want To Use a 1873 Statute to Stop The Abortion Pill

12:19 Mar 28 2024
Times Read: 199

Outside the Supreme Court Tuesday morning, ahead of oral argument for a case that could severely restrict access to the abortion drug mifepristone, there were already signs that the court might attempt to revive the 151-year-old Comstock Act as a kind of zombie abortion ban. One young man, who had traveled from Texas for the rally outside court, held the literal sign—handmade, and quoting Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, who originally heard the case: “The Comstock Act plainly forecloses mail-order abortion.” His sign added two little red hearts for emphasis. The man told me he had not been born yet when the Food and Drug Administration first approved mifepristone in 2000. But later that morning, the words he held up outside the building would be lent credence by two of the court’s staunch anti-abortion justices.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, which the Supreme Court heard Tuesday, is a case in which a group claiming to represent anti-abortion doctors argues that the FDA was wrong to approve mifepristone in 2000 and subsequently to roll back restrictions on its use. The case does not require the court to decide the question of whether or how the Comstock Act should be enforced. But anti-abortion groups in recent years have repeatedly raised the issue of whether the Comstock Act implicitly outlaws the mailing of abortion medication in its blanket ban on the mailing of “obscene” materials. The 1873 law is named for an anti-vice crusader who, in 1915, in the middle of a trial based on the law, died and was mocked over his anti-obscenity “crusade” on the front page of The New York Times.

Justice Samuel Alito was the first to raise Comstock at oral argument Tuesday, asking if the FDA should have taken the act into consideration when approving mifepristone. Significantly, he described the act as “a prominent provision … not some obscure subsection of law,” and said that “everybody in this field knew about it.” At the same time, Alito initially referenced the law only by its numeric criminal code, 1461, something the attorneys trying to block mifepristone access have done at times in their briefs—as if to obscure what they are talking about.

The Comstock Act gets shorthanded as an anti-obscenity law—which it is—but it’s also an anti-abortion law, making it a crime to use the mail to send or receive any device or object that could cause an abortion. Legal scholars have warned that a post-Roe resurrection of the Comstock Act was coming—a way to further attack access to abortion. Medication abortion has helped people in states where abortion is completely or effectively banned, because they can receive pills in the mail from other states and they can safely take them without having to go to a clinic. For the last several months, anti-abortion leaders have been speaking more openly about their plan for using the Comstock Act to ban medication abortion even in states where the procedure is legal, by criminalizing mailing pills.

Justice Clarence Thomas went in another direction with his queries about the Comstock Act. In a back-and-forth with the attorney for Danco Labratories, a mifepristone manufacturer, Thomas asserted that the Comstock Act “specifically covers drugs such as yours,” that the law was “fairly broad,” and that it lacked “safe harbor” for manufacturers. Thomas also asked Erin Hawley, attorney for the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Christian-right legal group representing the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, what she thought of what the solicitor general and the Danco attorney said about Comstock, giving her free space to opine. Unsurprisingly, she said she does believe Comstock applies to mailing mifepristone. “The Comstock Act says that drugs should not be mailed either through the mail or through common carriers. So we think that the plain text of that, Your Honor, is pretty clear.”

Hawley was only echoing the position of prominent conservatives and anti-abortion groups who filed briefs in the case. Nearly 150 members of Congress, in their brief, claimed that the Comstock Act should overrule FDA approval of mifepristone, while former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese (of the infamous Meese Commission on Pornography) went so far as to argue that the Comstock Act should be used to prosecute people who take mifepristone for self-managed abortion. A report released this month by the advocacy group Governing for Impact outlines the danger posed if the Comstock Act were to be enforced in this way, something also supported by the policy roadmap Project 2025, the mainstream right’s guide for the next conservative president. By asking about the law, said Rachael Klarman, the group’s executive director, Alito was “obviously trying to center the Comstock Act in that way, and make the case that it wouldn’t be a radical thing to enforce the Comstock Act.”

By bringing up the Comstock Act at all, Justices Alito and Thomas may have given credibility to the anti-abortion movement’s claim that the Comstock Act is being violated by mailing pills. And if there were any doubt, it is now dispelled: This law is back from the dead. What that means—and whether Comstock may rise again in the justices’ opinion (or dissents) in this case—remains to be seen.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/two-supreme-court-justices-favor-214459982.html

Both Alito and thomas are not comfortable in the 21st century. They prefer a time when women knew their place.

Red States Coming For No Fault Divorce

12:20 Mar 23 2024

First comes love, then comes marriage”

Go here to read it https://crooksandliars.com/2024/03/red-states-are-coming-no-fault-divorce

An increasing number of red states are attempting to rein in no fault divorce. It gained steam back in 2003-2004 when a right wing nut job Steven Crowder was astounded to learn that he did not have to give his consent for his wife to divorce his dumb, bigoted ass. So they took a woman's choice to her medical treatment away, they want to take birth control away, they want to say a man has to give consent to his wife for a divorce. You see where this is going don't you??

Now to me, why can't I copy and paste it ... Good question!! This is on crooks and liars and it is always difficult to copy and paste from there. It could be my desktop, but I just don't know.

Christians Think The Hand of god Is On Mango

09:54 Mar 23 2024
Times Read: 224

This is really a battle between good and evil," evangelical TV preacher Hank Kunneman says of the slew of criminal charges facing Donald Trump. "There's something on President Trump that the enemy fears: It's called the anointing."

The Nebraska pastor, who was speaking on cable news show "FlashPoint" last summer, is among several voices in Christian media pressing a message of Biblical proportions: The 2024 presidential race is a fight for America's soul, and a persecuted Trump has God's protection.

They're just trying to bankrupt him. They're trying to take everything he's got. They're trying to put him in prison," author, media personality and self-proclaimed prophet Lance Wallnau said in October on "The Jim Bakker Show", an hour-long daily broadcast that focuses on news and revelations about the end times that it says we are living in.

"The hand of God is on him and he cannot be stopped."

In both the 2016 and 2020 elections, evangelical voters staunchly supported Trump despite claims of adultery and sexual misconduct, which he denied. With Trump now facing dozens of criminal charges as he pursues a second term, some Christian media are bolstering his support by portraying him as an instrument of God's will who faces persecution by his foes.

While the people making these claims are largely outside the mainstream in Christian media, they have amassed significant online followings and their messages reverberate across radio shows, cable TV and streaming platforms that reach millions of Americans every day.
The claims that Trump benefits from divine help present a jarring counterpoint to the views voiced by his critics, who denounce him as an immoral grifter set on dismantling democracy and point to his inflammatory rhetoric about immigrants in the country illegally and opponents he has threatened to prosecute.

The former president's myriad legal woes include allegations of sexual abuse and financial chicanery. In May, a jury decided Trump must pay $5 million in damages for sexually abusing a magazine writer in the 1990s and then branding her a liar. He is also facing a criminal trial on charges he covered up hush-money payments to a porn star. He has denied wrongdoing in both cases.

The barrage of legal actions have broadly served to rev up Trump's support among Republicans rather than diminish it, according to a July Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The roughly 80 million Americans who describe themselves as born-again or evangelical Protestants - about a quarter of the population - have provided the bedrock for his meteoric rise, and their turnout levels this November could prove critical in a tight contest against Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Parnas Names Elected Officials In Russia'a Pocket- FOX Doesn't Air It

16:12 Mar 21 2024
Times Read: 240

Former Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas made some startling accusations during a House Oversight Committee impeachment inquiry hearing on Wednesday, but don’t expect to see it air on Fox News.

Parnas, who helped Donald Trump by attempting to pressure Ukraine into investigating Joe Biden, told the committee that various GOP politicians and members of the conservative media purposely spread disinformation about the current president.

And he named names, including Fox News host Sean Hannity and Rep. Pete Sessions, who, Parnas pointed out, is a member of the House Oversight Committee.

It all started when Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) asked Parnas about when “the campaign to dig up dirt on Biden” became “a campaign to spread disinformation and lies about Biden.”

Parnas said after the Biden investigation turned up nothing substantial at all, Giuliani and journalist John Solomon ― who was responsible for pushing many Ukraine conspiracy theories ― started “trying to push narratives that were — we had no, they were not validated.”

“Basically, a letter would come over from somebody in Ukraine, I’d hand it over to John Solomon. Next thing you knew, he was on Fox TV two hours later with Sean Hannity,” he explained.

Parnas said Giuliani then began working with Russian agents and Russian assets to spread anti-Biden propaganda and disinformation ”around May, June of 2019.”

He also testified that Giuliani was “absolutely” aware that those Russian sources were working on behalf of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He also said Giuliani had no problem with spreading lies “as long as it fit the narrative.”

But pushing falsehoods could be a challenge, since many of the media outlets were skeptical of the allegations “except for Fox and a few other right-wing media groups,” and”didn’t want to take any of the information.”

Parnas said the unwillingness of many media outlets to just spread disinformation without question “aggravated” Giuliani, Solomon and others.

“And the main group that it was being pushed through was Fox,” Parnas said, adding that it was mainly “Sean Hannity and some other media personalities over there.”

Parnas also named others.

“There was also other people that were doing the bidding for the Russians. People in congress, like Sen. Ron Johnson, like congressman Pete Sessions, who sits here right now, that was with me from the very beginning of this journey into finding up digging dirt on Joe Biden,” he said.

Alina Habba Yabba Doo Has A Problem

10:52 Mar 20 2024
Times Read: 253

An $82,500 settlement by a server alleging sexual harassment at Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf club specifically excluded attorney Alina Habba, leaving her on the hook for her own very large payout and worse.

C&L’s Red Painter explained in December how Habba “may have committed the most appalling attorney misconduct I’ve ever heard of.”

Here is the story. Back in 2021 an employee at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, was allegedly sexually harassed by a supervisor. The employee, named Alice Bianco, was 21-years old and working as a server. She claims that food and beverage manager, Pavel Melichar, sexually harassed her, forcibly kissed her and coerced her into having sex with him.

When Bianco wanted to proceed with a lawsuit, Habba "groomed" her and pretended to be her friend, claiming that she was looking out for her when in actuality she was representing the best interests of the club, Melichar and Donald Trump. That is a BIG no no in the legal profession.

Bianco was persuaded to settle for $15,000 and sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) drafted by Habba’s firm. She alleges she did not know Habba represented Trump. Bianco also alleges that Habba conned her with phony friendship talk such as, "You don't want to go public with this. I've been raped, I can help you, I can protect you" and that the settlement would be tax-free, which it wasn’t.

Even With Voters Passing A Constitutional Amendment In Ohio- No Changes

08:33 Mar 19 2024
Times Read: 264

Ohioans now have the constitutional right to abortion − a monumental shift in how the state has handled reproductive rights.

But for the average patient entering an Ohio abortion clinic, nothing has changed.

Ohio abortion providers aren't performing abortions after 22 weeks. Patients must wait 24 hours after their first visit to obtain the necessary pills or have a procedure. A dispute over using telemedicine is playing out in court.

"We did not get to the severe abortion restrictions that we have in Ohio overnight," said Dr. Adarsh Krishen, chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio. "We're not going to get out of that situation − even with the passage of Issue 1 − overnight. It's going to take time and energy to be able to lift those restrictions."

Most of that time and energy is spent in court.

While Ohio's GOP-controlled Legislature hasn't passed any abortion restrictions since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, Republican lawmakers aren't willing to roll back newly unconstitutional laws either.

Democratic lawmakers introduced bills to repeal various abortion bans and restrictions, but those proposals have gone nowhere.

Some Republican lawmakers have proposed stripping judges of the power to enforce the new abortion rights amendment, but Ohio's House Speaker Jason Stephens said that idea wouldn't pass. “This is Schoolhouse Rock-type stuff. We need to make sure that we have the three branches of the government," he added.

No comprehensive data exist on whether abortions have increased or decreased in Ohio since Issue 1 passed. The Ohio Department of Health's report on 2023 won't be released until the fall. Recently released numbers from #WeCount, a national reporting effort sponsored by the Society of Family Planning, don't yet capture the months after the November vote.

Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region has seen an increase in appointments from out-of-state patients since Issue 1 passed. For example, 51% of patients seeking an abortion in January traveled from other states, interim president Suzanne Bertuleit said.

"Despite this influx of patients, Issue 1’s passage did not immediately eliminate Ohio’s current restrictions on abortion access," Bertuleit said. "We continue to explore all our options to challenge other state restrictions with this constitutional protection in the coming months.”

Asked about the impact of Issue 1, Ohio Right to Life President Mike Gonidakis said: "We are unaware of any impact to date of the November 2023 ballot initiative."

Still, "the struggle to protect human life though is far from over here in Ohio," the organization's executive director Peter Range said. "Ohio Right to Life will continue to advocate for the preborn and will not stop working for a culture where every life gets a chance to succeed, including moms, dads and their babies."

What has changed
While much looks the same, Krishen with Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio said the constitutional amendment is already making a difference. He has seen an increase in doctors willing to work and train in Ohio because of Issue 1.

And the new protections provide a reprieve from the onslaught of new regulations and the lack of job security. "From a staff perspective, there been sort of a sigh of relief," Krishen said.

To pass the constitutional amendment, abortion rights advocates built a roster of donors and engaged activists, said Kellie Copeland, executive director of Pro-Choice Ohio. "We're in a much different position than we were even two years ago."

Advocates hope to deploy those resources to protect LGBTQ rights at the statehouse and elect Democratic judges to the Ohio Supreme Court that will oversee abortion challenges. They also support redistricting reform, which could make it easier to enact abortion protections in the state Legislature.

Outside of Ohio, there is a looming fight over a national abortion ban. Former President Donald Trump supports a 16-week ban with exceptions, the New York Times reported in February. President Joe Biden has said he's "not big on abortion" but has often said the Roe v. Wade court decision "got it right."

A national abortion ban would undo all of the work Ohioans did to pass Issue 1, Copeland said. "We can't allow that to happen."

On Wednesday, a nationwide group of doctors, including those who backed Ohio's reproductive rights amendment, formed Healthcare Workers for Reproductive Freedom to safeguard in vitro fertilization after an Alabama Supreme Court decision threatened it there. The state's Republican governor recently signed IVF protections in response to that ruling.

Even though Ohio voters passed constitutional protections, the battle over reproductive rights is far from over in Ohio and elsewhere, Copeland said. "It's one thing to amend the constitution. It's another thing to make it real."

https://www.yahoo.com/news/ohioans-approved-protections-abortion-rights-133537003.html

As I have said elsewhere the GOPQ is hostile to voters. In an additional note, J.D. Vance the GOPQ U.S. Senator from Ohio, said after the amendment passed, that some issues are to important to be left up to voters. Vance is hard right, he is affliated with a group that wants to guide the country toward the far right. Don't be surprised should the Republicans have control of the House and Senate that they pass a FederaL ban... so much for the lip service about leaving it to the states.

Mango Can't Find An Underwriter

08:20 Mar 19 2024
Times Read: 265

Former President Donald Trump can’t find an insurance company to underwrite his bond to cover the massive judgment against him in the New York attorney general’s civil fraud case, his lawyers told a New York appeals court.

Trump’s attorneys said he has approached 30 underwriters to back the bond, which is due by the end of this month.

“The amount of the judgment, with interest, exceeds $464 million, and very few bonding companies will consider a bond of anything approaching that magnitude,” Trump’s lawyers wrote. (Trump himself was ordered to pay $454 million; the $464 million includes the disgorgement for his adult sons Don Jr. and Eric.)

An insurance broker, Gary Giulietti, who testified for Trump during the civil fraud trial, signed an affidavit stating that securing a bond in the full amount “is a practical impossibility.”

Potential underwriters are seeking cash to back the bond, not properties, according to Trump’s lawyers.

Trump’s lawyers have asked the appeals court to delay posting the bond until his appeal of the case is over, arguing that the value of Trump’s properties far exceed the judgment. If the appeals court rules against him, Trump asked the court to delay his posting the bond until his appeal to New York’s highest court is heard.

Trump said Monday he thought it was “practically impossible” for him to post the bond.

In a post on Truth Social, he claimed the size of the bond is “unConstitutional, un-American, unprecedented, and practically impossible for ANY Company, including one as successful as mine. The Bonding Companies have never heard of such a bond, of this size, before, nor do they have the ability to post such a bond, even if they wanted to.”

Last month, Trump was ordered to pay $355 million in disgorgement, or “ill-gotten gains,” by New York Judge Arthur Engoron in a civil fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James. Engoron wrote in his 93-page decision that Trump and his co-defendants – including his adult sons – were liable for fraud, conspiracy and issuing false financial statements and false business records, finding that the defendants fraudulently inflated the value of Trump’s assets to obtain more favorable loan and insurance rates.

The amount Trump owed surpassed $450 million with interest included.

Trump is appealing the ruling, but in order to stop the state from enforcing the judgment, Trump has to post a bond to be held in an account pending the appellate process, which could take years to litigate.

Trump posted a $91.6 million bond earlier this month as part of his appeal in the E. Jean Carroll defamation case.

But Giulietti said some of the biggest underwriters have internal policies that limit them from securing a bond in excess of $100 million. None of them, he said, including some of the largest insurance companies in the world, will accept real estate – they are only comfortable taking cash or stock.

Including fees and interest, he said Trump would need to come up with more than $550 million.

“Over the course of my career, during which I have been directly or indirectly involved in the issuance of thousands of bonds, I have never heard of nor seen an appeal bond of this size for a private company or individual,” Giulietti said. “After substantial good-faith effort over the last several weeks, obtaining an appeal bond for the Judgment Amount of over $464 million is just not possible under these circumstances.”

Alan Garten, the top legal officer of the Trump Organization, said in a sworn statement that Chubb, which underwrote Trump’s $91.6 million bond to cover the Carroll judgment, could not accept real estate to secure the civil fraud bond.

Garten called the lack of underwriters to accept real estate a “major obstacle” to securing a bond.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung blasted the size of the fraud judgment.

“A bond of this size would be an abuse of the law, contradict bedrock principals of our Republic, and fundamentally undermine the rule of law in New York,” Cheung said. “President Trump will continue fighting and beating all of these Crooked Joe Biden-directed hoaxes and will Make America Great Again.”

Shadow Group Influencing Red States

12:41 Mar 18 2024
Times Read: 274

When Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft jumped into the state’s gubernatorial race last year, the Republican vowed to tackle a slew of culture war issues, promising to fight the “woke politics” of “left-wing” banks and touting how he used his position to enact a regulation targeting those financial firms.

Ashcroft also said candidates shouldn’t focus on issues that let the one percent “force their beliefs on 99 percent of the population.”

While Ashcroft positioned himself as a champion for working class voters, emails obtained by CNN and the progressive watchdog group Documented show that he was steered toward adopting his “anti-woke” investment regulation by a little-known, right-wing think tank with deep ties to conservative billionaires. The communications show that officials with the Foundation for Government Accountability suggested regulatory language to Ashcroft and even wrote an op-ed article that Ashcroft published in a national conservative magazine under his own name.

The emails not only reveal FGA’s influence over Ashcroft, they offer a snapshot of the group’s growing influence across the country, particularly in red states. And that influence can carry a high cost for workers and taxpayers.

The “anti-woke” investment measures have cost states hundreds of millions of dollars in additional investment fees and can lead to smaller returns for public employee retirement plans. One study estimated a 2021 Texas law would cost taxpayers up to $500 million in higher interest rates just on bonds sold in the first eight months after the law passed. Another study calculated that the law cost local governments $270 million a year in added fees, resulting in an annual $668 million in lost economic activity and thousands of full-time jobs.

Along with attacking “woke” investing, FGA has worked with legislators and elected officials to push for laws to deregulate child labor, stop Medicaid expansion and slash food stamps, among other initiatives. Since the 2020 presidential election, the group also has played a key role in the push to advance voting restrictions and other legislation pitched as promoting election integrity in Republican states – claiming more than 70 such policy wins across the country in 2022 alone.

In Wyoming, a GOP state senator forwarded an FGA draft bill to Secretary of State Chuck Gray that would prohibit sending out unsolicited absentee ballot request forms. “This is great!” Gray enthusiastically replied. It sailed through the legislature before the state’s Republican governor scuttled the measure, angering Gray. “The Governor just vetoed the absentee ballot request form bill. Very troubling,” he wrote to an FGA contact in an email.

The group’s communications with Ashcroft and Gray, neither of whom responded to questions from CNN, give a rare glimpse into how billionaire megadonors use think tanks like FGA to advance their causes out of public view. Federal tax laws allow such donors to channel millions of dollars anonymously, through nonprofit foundations, to activist organizations that lobby for and work behind the scenes to enact legislation that reflects partisan political goals.

FGA enjoys tax-exempt status as a charitable organization. It received more than $44 million from six conservative foundations tied to billionaire donors from 2013 through 2022, the most recent year for which tax records are available. Those foundations also have financed much of the push to tighten voting laws and spread election disinformation across the country since the 2020 election.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/17/politics/dark-money-fga-ashcroft-invs/index.html

The article is longer. You should read it. Focus on the above paragraph that states they want child labor deregulated ( that way teenagers can enter the work force and in all likelihood work for less money), slashing food stamps (they will get around to section 8 and other housing assitance programs too), as far as stoping Medicaid expansion ..did you know that several states and I think Mississippi is one, where the voters passed an amendment to expand Medicaid and the legislature refuses to do it.Not to mention the group wishes to curtail voting ( a typical GOP plan).

And what would your Jesus do? Fed the poor didn't he? Tossed the money lenders from the temple. Washed the feet of a harlot. Said love your neighbor....

Yet these groups would enslave us if they had their way.... working for less, fewer medical choices, hurting the most vulnerable
of the population.

These groups are always tied to the right. Personally I have never been hurt by any policy from the left.

Pelosi Warns of Mango Bloodbath Comments

09:46 Mar 18 2024
Times Read: 275

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) warned voters of the stark choice ahead now that Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee for president, setting up a rematch against President Joe Biden.

“We just have to win this election because he’s even predicting a ‘bloodbath,’” the former House speaker said on CNN on Sunday. “What does that mean? He’s going to exact a bloodbath?”

Trump on Saturday warned of a “bloodbath” if he loses the election in November, an especially ominous prediction given the violence carried out by his supporters after he lost the 2020 election.

“There’s something wrong here,” Pelosi said. “How respectful I am of the American people and their goodness, but how much more do they have to see from him to understand that this isn’t what our country is about? Praising Hitler, praising the Russians.”

John Kelly, who served as White House chief of staff under Trump, last week recalled Trump insisting that Hitler “did some good things,” and Trump has publicly expressed admiration for Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Pelosi urged voters to weigh these and other outrageous comments, promises and actions from Trump as they consider their votes.

“You wouldn’t even allow him in your house, much less in the White House,” she said.

She is right, there is something wrong. Normal presidential candidates do not threaten violence.

Former GOP NJ Governor Says Bloodbath Comments By Mango A Call For Violence

09:40 Mar 18 2024
Times Read: 276

Former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman (R) on Sunday called “B.S.” on the spin that Donald Trump’s campaign has put on his “bloodbath” warning from the weekend.

Trump at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, said while talking about the auto industry that, “If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole … that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country.”

Trump, the Republican 2024 nominee, was slammed for using violent rhetoric but his campaign claimed his comment was taken out of context and he’d been talking about the economy.

MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show” host Jonathan Capehart told Whitman that he called “B.S. on that” excuse from the Trump campaign.

“Am I wrong?” he asked Whitman.

“No. You are absolutely right,” Whitman replied. “That is B.S. on that. He was definitely sending a call to his supporters to have a reprise of Jan. 6.”

“But even worse, when he says ‘bloodbath,’ that means more of the weapons we saw on Jan. 6,” she continued. “It’s appalling to have an ex-president […] to say that, and follow it up with, ‘It would be the end of elections as we know them.’”

“I mean, he’s being pretty clear on what he plans to do if he’s back in power,” Whitman added. “Shame on us if we ignore this. It happened back in the 1930s when a fellow called Hitler wrote ‘Mein Kampf.’ He said exactly what he was going to do in that. I don’t think Donald Trump could write a book but he’s giving it to us verbally.”

Whitman governed New Jersey as a moderate from 1994 to 2001 and also served as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency under former President George W. Bush.

She backed Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden over Trump in 2016 and 2020, railed against Trump’s 2020 election lies and in 2022 slammed the GOP as a “cult” with “no set of central principles on which it’s based.”

Mango Threatens Blood Bath If He Loses

10:10 Mar 17 2024
Times Read: 288

Former President Donald Trump claimed that he — not President Joe Biden — will protect Social Security and warned of a “bloodbath” if he loses in November as he campaigned for Senate candidate Bernie Moreno in Ohio.

Trump, speaking on a wind-whipped airfield outside of Dayton Saturday, praised his chosen candidate in the race as an “America first champion” and “political outsider who has spent his entire life building up Ohio communities.”

“He’s going to be a warrior in Washington,” Trump said, days after securing enough delegates to clinch the 2024 Republican nomination.

Moreno faces Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan in Tuesday’s GOP primary. LaRose and Moreno have aligned themselves with the pro-Trump faction of the party, while Dolan is backed by more establishment Republicans, including Gov. Mike DeWine and former Sen. Rob Portman.

Saturday’s rally was hosted by Buckeye Values PAC, a group backing Moreno’s candidacy. But Trump used the stage to deliver a profanity-filled version of his usual rally speech that again painted an apocalyptic picture of the country if Biden wins a second term.

“If I don’t get elected, it’ s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country,” he warned, while talking about the impact of offshoring on the country’s auto industry and his plans to increase tariffs on foreign-made cars.

Biden campaign spokesperson James Singer accused Trump of doubling “down on his threats of political violence.”

“He wants another January 6, but the American people are going to give him another electoral defeat this November because they continue to reject his extremism, his affection for violence, and his thirst for revenge,” Singer charged in a statement.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said that Trump had clearly been talking about the impact of a second Biden term on the auto industry and broader economy.

“Crooked Joe Biden and his campaign are engaging in deceptively, out-of-context editing,” he said.

ok... for you that worship the orange jesus I know you will say he meant the economic impact on the country if he loses... But he is threatening political violence as he does from his small number of crazies who will actually take up arms. Why do I say a small number because it actually is. Even if one is a complete MAGA nutcase as long as he has property, family, investments something to actually lose then I find it less likelihood that one will enagage. Because they know what happened on Jan 6. They know that 1200 traitors have been charged. They know many have long prison sentences. They know many of that trash were turned in by THEIR OWN FAMILY or FRIENDS or EMPLOYERS or FRATERNITY BROTHERS etc. I will paraphrase what F.B.I. Director Chris Wray said after the Insurrection/White Uprising we (the Feds) will find you and bring you to justice.

Mango Is Trying To Incite Another Insurrection

21:59 Mar 16 2024
Times Read: 300

The rallies start with a recording of January 6 prisoners singing the national anthem. Campaign staff hand out pre-made “Too Big to Rig” signs to supporters. When the candidate takes the stage, he calls the rioters “people who love our country” and “hostages unfairly imprisoned for long periods of time.”

There is nothing subtle about how central Donald Trump has made January 6, 2021, to his campaign. More than just continuing to feed denialism and conspiracies about the 2020 election, he is constantly distorting the reality of what happened that day, preaching vindication to his base of voters.

In ways big and small – but often overlooked because they have become so commonplace at his events – the former president glosses over the violence. He promises pardons for the people who committed it.

On this, Trump and President Joe Biden agree: January 6 itself is a central issue of the 2024 campaign and will be even if Trump’s trials on related indictments get delayed past Election Day.

It’s Biden’s campaign aides who have been surprised how much that’s true.

“People know what happened on January 6,” said Mike Donilon, one of Biden’s closest advisers. “I think most of the country is going to say, ‘We don’t embrace political violence. We do embrace democracy. We do embrace the rule of law. We’re not interested in pardoning people who ransacked the Capitol, and we’re going to have a real problem supporting someone who embraces all that.’”

Though Donilon and a few others — including Vice President Kamala Harris, in private conversations to CNN — had been adamant for three years that January 6 would continue reverberating, Biden aides use words like “stunning” to describe the way Trump has not just kept January 6 present, but burrowed ever deeper into conspiracy theories that are embraced in the right-wing echo chamber but push away more mainstream voters.

And while Biden aides in the Wilmington reelection office have been closely monitoring Trump’s rallies, stockpiling clips for future use to likely pair with the many disturbing videos of the mob breaking down the doors and attacking police, they don’t need to go further than keeping an eye on Trump’s Truth Social account.

“My first acts as your next President will be to Close the Border, DRILL, BABY, DRILL, and Free the January 6 Hostages being wrongfully imprisoned!” he wrote.

Some Biden aides say they were shocked that January 6 keeps coming up in every focus group, to the point that Democratic operatives these days tend to use words like “indelible image” or “scar tissue” to describe how the memories still hit.

We were all surprised,” acknowledged one senior Democrat involved with the reelection effort, asking not to be named to describe private strategy development.

“Anyone who is being honest was surprised Jan. 6 continues to be this resonant,” the person added. “But in hindsight, when you combine extreme rhetoric, extreme policy and lasting imagery, that ends up being a pretty powerful memory.”

The Trump campaign did not respond to questions sent by CNN about his embrace of January 6.
Biden aides say January 6 and the footage from it will be a central feature of their advertising campaigns, the convention and beyond. They are counting on more attention from Trump’s trials, if those happen—and already, a Biden senior aide told CNN they have thought through how the president will keep talking about the topic while insisting he is sticking to not interfering in the legal process.

Trump, for his part, keeps talking about it and his aides aren’t really trying to stop him. The rally crowds keep cheering. And every ambitious Republican trying to get in Trump’s line of sight as he draws out the jockeying to be his running mate knows the bar for entry: Was Mike Pence in the wrong on January 6 — and if you were in a similar position in the future, would you be ready to toss out electoral votes in favor of a conspiracy to keep your losing boss in power?

New York. Rep. Elise Stefanik and Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance have said that they would not have certified the election results in 2020 as constitutionally obligated. Stefanik would not commit to certifying the next election. South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott refused to say what he would have done if he was in Pence’s position at the time. Trump’s housing secretary Ben Carson and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum wouldn’t answer when asked if Pence did the right thing. As presidential candidates, Scott and Burgum had both indicated that Pence was in the right during a debate last August.

Pence has defended his actions many times. On Friday, he said he would not be endorsing Trump.

Biden always says the reason he ran at all in 2020 was because he wouldn’t let America be a place where the 2017 neo-Nazi march in Charlottesville happened or was equivocated about from the White House. He started his presidency not wanting to believe that America would be a place where so many Republicans almost immediately absolved Trump, and where so many of those who didn’t quickly fell into line anyway.

Biden’s speech at the US Capitol on the one-year anniversary of January 6 at first seemed like a kind of capstone to the topic — and not as essentially a preview of the speech he would end up giving at Valley Forge on the third anniversary as a way to kick off his 2024 campaign year.

“There was a hope that January 6 would have been a decisive moment in terms of the threat to democracy. But it’s not. It’s an ongoing battle,” Donilon said.

Fewer Trump voters think the protesters who entered the Capitol were “mostly violent” than they did in the past, according to Washington Post-University of Maryland surveys from December of last year and in 2021. Among his supporters, there’s been a significant jump in the view that punishment is too harsh for those who broke into the Capitol from 45% to 57%, and nearly 9 in 10 of them now think that Trump bears little or no responsibility for the attack.

The same, though, cannot be said for most other Americans, including the kinds of voters who swung away from Trump in the last election. For example, 61% of college educated White voters still think the protesters who breached the Capitol walls were violent, up slightly from 2021. About 56 percent of independent voters continue to believe Trump was largely responsible for it, virtually unchanged during that stretch.

In one of his first moves after taking over the job, House Speaker Mike Johnson announced in November he would release all Capitol Hill security footage from January 6, 2021, that does not contain sensitive information.

GOP Rep. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia is spearheading the Republican-led investigation into the work of the former January 6 select committee, going after star witnesses of the probe and alleging the former select committee withheld witness transcripts from the public to undercut some of their most explosive claims.

That’s earned Loudermilk being called a “hero” by Trump at that rally in Georgia.

Meanwhile, leading Trump ally GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida introduced a largely symbolic resolution last month declaring Trump did not incite an insurrection or rebellion on January 6. More than one-third of the House Republican Conference have signed on.

Some are true believers. Some, said GOP Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee, are attached because “I’m sure they are afraid not to.”

Some Republicans argue it’s the Democrats who are keeping the issue alive.

“It happened, not the very best day. But Democrats are focusing on it because they have nothing else to focus on,” GOP Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey said of January 6. “They have to make you look at the shiny object over here because otherwise you’re going to keep your eye on the game. And in the game, [Biden] is losing badly. He’s in trouble.”

Biden aides are confident that pardoning acts of political violence isn’t popular, but also isn’t anywhere near top of mind for people wondering what a president’s top three priorities are for Day One. But it’s more than that: While Trump is talking about what he will do for insurrectionists, Biden aides believe they’ll be able to make the case to voters that the president will make a difference in the lives of people who aren’t in jail for invading the Capitol.

Biden aides believe that argument draws in wavering swing voters, while seeing those images of January 6 will help keep anti-Trump Republicans repelled from the former president and lights up the Democratic base to boost turnout.

Aides know one of the issues they’re running up against is younger voters and voters of color who have been telling pollsters and focus groups that protecting “democracy” doesn’t mean as much to them because they start out skeptical that democracy was ever working that well. That’s why several top Democratic strategists working with the Biden campaign, as well as Harris herself, have been stressing “freedom” instead, believing that gets people more actively connected to abortion rights, LGBTQ rights and other fights.

But Biden aides say that’s a big part of why the images and memories of January 6 itself are so important.

Black voters have responded in focus groups by being offended to see the right to vote that they or their parents and grandparents fought for be abused like that. Those conversations can also quickly turn to dark speculation about how much rougher and bloody the response from law enforcement would have been if the rioters had been Black.

Latinos who either immigrated themselves or are children of immigrants have told focus groups that they are upset to see people disrespect the process that they worked so hard to take an oath of citizenship to be part of.

Matt Barreto – one of Biden’s pollsters in 2020 who then continued to conduct focus groups and polls for the Democratic National Committee and remains close to the reelection campaign – said that unlike abortion, Ukraine aid, Israel, or pretty much any other issue in a divided time, January 6 stands apart.

Barreto shared one response from a recent focus group of undecided Latino voters that he oversaw for a Latino advocacy group: “the way they’re going about it, and the time that is taking them to prosecute the criminal acts that he engaged in is just is very dangerous game they’re playing with—because a lot of his people are, for you know, a dictatorship. Apparently, they never had it, so they don’t know what it is, or if they do, they support it. And unfortunately, the U.S. is young, and we never had a dictatorship.”

“People are going to sit around and talk about the state of the economy, the cost of gas, and other things like that. Those frustrations are real. We know that, and we’re taking them very seriously,” Barreto said. “But when it gets to January 6, it still hits a nerve with people.”

Biden not only Democrat counting on January 6 revulsion
Biden isn’t the only Democrat counting on voters to be repelled by Trump’s approach to January 6. In Arizona, Democrats are hoping that the combination of Republican candidate Kari Lake’s 2020 election denialism and her refusal to accept the results of her own 2022 gubernatorial race will make her a more toxic candidate to voters who almost elected her last time.

Rep. Chris Deluzio, a Democrat running to hold onto his seat in a divided district in top presidential battleground Pennsylvania — where one of the local Republican leaders was a fake elector himself who has not been condemned by the congressman’s Republican challenger — said January 6 is “remarkably still out there for folks.”

“There are Republicans and independents who are just disgusted that their nominee is the guy who tried to rip up the Constitution,” Deluzio said. “Irrespective of politics, these aren’t our values.”

Will Rollins, a former federal prosecutor involved in several cases of Southern Californians who were at the Capitol that day and is running in a rematch as a Democrat against GOP Rep. Ken Calvert — who voted to overturn the results after the riot and said recently he hopes the people in jail get out — said that he hears constantly from independents and Republicans who say that Trump’s embrace of January 6 is continuing to drive them away.

“It’s become bigger than January 6. Those images of course are visceral for people, and we all remember seeing them on TV,” Rollins said. “It’s more of a forward-looking threat that people recognize. They’re thinking about not January 6 of 2021, but they’re thinking about the next certification in 2025.”

https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/16/politics/biden-trump-january-6/index.html

The insurrectionist piece of shit in chief keeps bringing up Jan 6 because he is trying to incite violence. Has it dawned on him that hundreds and hundreds of the defendants of Jan 6 have been TURNED IN BY FAMILY MEMBERS. I would suggest that any would be insurrectionists consider that in all likelihood you will become a defendant IN FEDERAL COURT or a resident of a cemetary.

N.C. GOP Nominee For Superindent of Public Schools Has Called For the Executioin of Obama and Biden

01:10 Mar 15 2024
Times Read: 317

The Republican nominee for superintendent overseeing North Carolina’s public schools and its $11 billion budget has a history marked by extreme and controversial comments, including sharing baseless conspiracy theories and frequent calls for the execution of prominent Democrats.

Michele Morrow, a conservative activist who last week upset the incumbent Superintendent of Public Instruction in North Carolina’s Republican primary, expressed support in 2020 for the televised execution of former President Barack Obama and suggested killing then-President-elect Joe Biden.

In other comments on social media between 2019 and 2021 reviewed by CNN’s KFile, Morrow made disturbing suggestions about executing prominent Democrats for treason, including Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Hillary Clinton, Sen. Chuck Schumer and other prominent people such as Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates.

“I prefer a Pay Per View of him in front of the firing squad,” she wrote in a tweet from May 2020, responding to a user sharing a conspiracy theory who suggested sending Obama to prison at Guantanamo Bay. “I do not want to waste another dime on supporting his life. We could make some money back from televising his death.”

In another post in May 2020, she responded to a fake Time Magazine cover that featured art of Obama in an electric chair asking if he should be executed.

“Death to ALL traitors!!” Morrow responded.

In yet another comment, Morrow suggested in December 2020 killing Biden, who at that time was president-elect, and has said he would ask Americans to wear a mask for 100 days.

“Never. We need to follow the Constitution’s advice and KILL all TRAITORS!!! #JusticeforAmerica,” she wrote.

CNN reached out to Morrow and her campaign multiple times but did not receive a response.

From activist to candidate
Last Tuesday, Morrow defeated Catherine Truitt, the incumbent North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction, in the Republican primary. Morrow, a registered nurse and grassroots activist who homeschooled her children, ran on a platform of supporting parental rights and opposing critical race theory.

As superintendent, Morrow would oversee the state’s public school system and help set educational priorities, manage the school system’s budgets, and work with the state’s Board of Education to set and implement curriculum standards. Her website lists endorsements by “conservative school boards” but remains light on changes she’d make if elected.

Morrow has in the past called public schools “socialism centers” and “indoctrination centers.”

In a campaign speech in February, Morrow advocated for a constitutional amendment to abolish the state Board of Education, which sets policies and procedures for public schools in the state. Doing away with the board would put direct control over the state’s education agenda under the superintendent and the state legislature, which is currently controlled by Republicans.

“I’d like to see a constitutional amendment to get rid of the state Board of Education,”she said. “If the superintendent is elected and works under the legislature - knowing that they’re accountable to the legislature to oversee the DPI and to oversee and have impact into the superintendents in the 115 districts, I think we would be so much better off because you don’t have all these extra people right in mix.”

Morrow has espoused a wide range of extreme views on social media in recent years. Many of her past extreme comments were made on her now-dormant personal Twitter account — which is separate from her campaign account.

Morrow also promoted QAnon slogans and tweeted that the actor Jim Carrey was “… likely searching for adrenochrome” – a reference to a conspiracy theory shared by QAnon believers that celebrities harvest and drink the blood of children to prolong their own lives. Media Matters, a left-leaning publication, was first to report the QAnon tweets.

All together, Morrow tweeted “WWG1WGA” – the slogan that stands for “where we go one, we go all” and is commonly associated with the QAnon conspiracy – more than seven times in 2020.

Central to QAnon lore is the notion of the “Storm,” a belief there will be a day when thousands will purportedly be arrested, subjected to military tribunals, and face mass executions for their alleged crimes, with Donald Trump leading efforts to dismantle them alongside other QAnon “patriots.”

Violent fantasies about executing Democrats
Morrow’s post about publicly executing Obama was just one of numerous she has made espousing carrying out violent fantasies against Democrats.

On Twitter, the platform now known as X, and on the now-defunct conservative Twitter alternative, Parler, Morrow used the hashtag “#DeathtoTraitors” a combined 12 times – usually in relation to prominent Democrats.

“Obama did it. Hillary did it. Schiff did it. Comey did it. Yates did it. Holder did it. Clapper did it. Gates did it. Fauci did it. Time for #WeThePeople to DO IT and #DrainTheSwamp!!!!! #NoJusticeNoCountry #DeathToTraitors #ProsecuteThemNow #TakeBackAmerica .@dbongino #KAG,” she wrote in one tweet from May 2020, referring to “sedition.”

In another post from July 2019, Morrow targeted Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar and other Democrats, suggesting their impending death for unspecified “treason.”

“@IlhanMN and her other law-hating Dems must be getting a little nervous. Are they just realizing the punishment for treason is death?!?” Morrow wrote.

In a post on Parler, Morrow used the hashtag #deathtotraitors in discussing the Democratic governors of North Carolina and New York, Cooper and Cuomo. Morrow publicized her Parler handle in a tweet and CNN found the deleted Parler posts on the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.

“Our Communist sympathizer, Comrade Cooper, has the same plans for NC!Expose them NOW!Can we we see the CCP list, @SecPompeo??? #PrisonTimeforFederalCrimes #DeathToTraitors #FreeOurCitizens,” Morrow wrote in 2020, discussing restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In other posts on Parler, Morrow shared posts from other users and a QAnon account about locking up Democrats at Guantanamo Bay and prisons.

Morrow’s ire also went beyond Democrats, including one post in December 2020 calling for putting Republican Gov. Brian Kemp of Georgia in prison after he certified Georgia’s results for Joe Biden in that year’s presidential election.

Shared conspiracies and made anti-Muslim comments
In other comments, Morrow repeatedly shared the false claim that Obama was Muslim, called Islam evil, and expressed belief in a conspiracy theory that tens of thousands of Chinese troops were stationed in Canada to invade the United States to help Joe Biden become president.

“Tens of thousands of Chinese soldiers are already in Canada and probably Mexico waiting for orders to invade,” she wrote on January 8, 2021.

In another post from September 2019, Morrow said that Barack Obama (referred to as B.O.) was a puppet for the “Deep State” and the “Muslim movement” and suggested he pay the highest penalty for his alleged crimes.

“B.O. was a puppet for the Deep State and the Muslim movement to destroy our Constitutional Republic. We cannot give up until ALL the guilty pay the highest penalty for their crimes. We will lose our country #SAVEOURNATION #JusticeForAll #TraitorsMustPay

“The DEEP STATE globalists and Muslim extremists, intent on destroying America, placed Omar and MANY others into our govt. #WakeUpAmerica #IslamIsEvil #ToleranceIsDeadly,” she wrote in January 2020.

In one post, Morrow said Muslims should be banned from elected office in the United States and said Rep. Omar, who came to the United States as a refugee, should, “head back to Somalia.”

#2 Republican in Arizona Says Women Wouldn't Need Birth Control If they Weren't Promiscuous

01:14 Mar 13 2024
Times Read: 341

By Arizona Mirror — March 12, 2024
by Gloria Rebecca Gomez, Arizona Mirror

A bid to make birth control a right in Arizona that was a top policy priority for Gov. Katie Hobbs has stagnated in the Republican-controlled legislature and is likely dead.

The Democrat lashed out at the GOP on Thursday, questioning its support for contraceptive access. Republicans hold a one-seat majority in each legislative chamber, and every legislative committee chair is a Republican. Those chairs choose which bills get heard and which don’t move forward.

“This basic, commonsense proposal hasn’t made it past step one,” Hobbs said. “It begs the question: Why won’t they codify this basic freedom into law? What do they have against allowing us to have control over our own bodies and access to basic health care?”

The governor unveiled her intention to push for contraceptive access as a right last year, and the Democratic lawmaker who initially sponsored the measure to accomplish that goal touted it as a way to put Republicans on the record about their reproductive health care stances.

Dubbed “The Right to Contraception Act,” the proposal sought to protect the ability of Arizonans to obtain all forms of birth control, including Plan B, and guarantee the right of health care providers to prescribe contraceptives or give information about them to patients. It would also have outlawed any attempt to limit or infringe on a person’s ability to access contraceptives or a doctor’s ability to offer them.

One Republican’s response to questions Thursday about contraceptives highlights the challenges Hobbs and legislative Democrats face in guaranteeing the right to contraceptive access in Arizona while the GOP controls the legislative agenda.

Sen. Sonny Borrelli, the No. 2 Republican in the state Senate, responded to a question about whether he would oppose future efforts to restrict access to emergency contraceptives by saying that women wouldn’t need contraceptives if they weren’t so promiscuous.

You do see where the National GOP will be heading....

Did Mango Praise Hitler??

Former President Trump reportedly said in a conversation with then-chief of staff John Kelly during his 2018 trip to Europe to commemorate the end of World War I that Adolf Hitler “did a lot of good things.”

The conversation is included in an upcoming book from The Wall Street Journal’s Michael Bender, “Frankly, We Did Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Lost,” a copy of which was obtained by The Guardian.

The news outlet reported that while Trump denied making the remark to Kelly, several unidentified sources said Kelly “told the president that he was wrong, but Trump was undeterred.”

While Trump cited Germany’s economic recovery under Hitler in the 1930s, his chief of staff “reminded the president which countries were on which side during the conflict” and “connected the dots from the first world war to the second world war and all of Hitler’s atrocities,” according to Bender’s book.

Kelly reportedly continued to push back on Trump’s alleged claims “and argued that the German people would have been better off poor than subjected to the Nazi genocide.”

According to the book, Kelly, a former Marine Corps general, then told Trump that “you cannot ever say anything supportive of Adolf Hitler. You just can’t.”

Trump spokesperson Liz Harrington said in a statement to The Hill that the reported conversation is “totally false.”

“President Trump never said this,” she added. “It is made up fake news, probably by a general who was incompetent and was fired.”

Kelly departed his role as chief of staff at the beginning of 2019 after serving in the position for about 17 months and has become a vocal critic of the Trump.

The reported conversation between Trump and Kelly is just one of a series of incidents described in Bender’s book, with several advance copies obtained by news outlets ahead of its July 13 release, giving an inside look into Trump’s presidency and his tensions with top administration officials.

Late last month, Axios reported a passage in the book that describes Trump yelling at Army Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, while expressing his desire to invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 and deploy active duty troops to Washington, D.C., amid civil unrest in the wake of last year’s police killing of George Floyd.

When Milley pushed back on Trump’s request, citing legal provisions limiting the military from interfering in domestic affairs, the former president reportedly responded by screaming, “I said you’re in f—ing charge!”

“Well, I’m not in charge!” Milley reportedly shouted back.

“You can’t f—ing talk to me like that,” Trump responded, according to Bender’s book.

The former president has denied the account, telling Axios through an aide that the story “is totally fake news.”

This is not the first time I have read about Mango's praising Hitler. Frankly, as much as he fawns over Orbain, Putin, and other authoritarians it would not surprise me if he did. Mango yearns to have the power of life and death over his enemies .

He is a petty, pot bellied, little wanna be dictator.

Mango Threatens Social Security on CNBC

By Conover Kennard — March 11, 2024
Since Donald Trump is planning a smash-and-grab of the RNC, it's not too surprising that he intends the same for Social Security and Medicare. The disgraced former President phoned CNBC's "Squawk Box" and said that "there's a lot you can do in terms of cutting" Social Security and Medicare, programs he falsely referred to as "entitlements." Interestingly, Trump accused Gov. Ron DeSantis of planning to do the same thing he's planning. It's almost as if he's a big fat liar or something.

"So, first of all, there is a lot you can do in terms of entitlements, in terms of cutting," Trump told the CNBC host. "And in terms of, also, the theft and the bad management of entitlements — tremendous bad management of entitlements — there's tremendous amounts of things and numbers of things you can do."

Read it here https://crooksandliars.com/2024/03/biden-responds-after-trump-says-he-will

Oh, and he is threatening other programs as well..... meanwhile he has grabbed control of the RNC and will siphon off money for his legal defense.... wow kinda like an entitlement

GOPQ In Arizona Has A Plan For Contraceptives

11:31 Mar 09 2024
Times Read: 386

Gov. Katie Hobbs on Thursday held a news conference, calling on the Arizona Legislature to pass a state law guaranteeing women the right to contraception.

Of course, the Republican-run Legislature isn’t about to pass a law guaranteeing that women can remain in control of their own bodies, and Hobbs knows it.

What she may not have known is that women, apparently, have an alternative to contraception.

Leave it to Senate Majority Leader Sonny Borrelli to mansplain our options.

“Like I said, Bayer Company invented aspirin,” he told Arizona Mirror’s Gloria Rebecca Gomez. “Put it between your knees.”

Borrelli didn’t indicate how that aspirin between the knees would help women with polycystic ovaries, endometriosis, premenstrual issues or even pregnancy. (Perhaps he ought to give the Kama Sutra a look?)

But the Lake Havasu City Republican went on to assure Gomez that there’s no plan afoot to deny women access to contraceptives.

“They’re creating a controversy that doesn’t exist because nobody’s opposing — nobody has any kind of plan to ban any contraceptives,” he said.

On the day after the Republican Party had a woman deliver its response to the State of Union speech from her kitchen …

In the weeks after the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that an embryo in a freezer is a baby, briefly threatening access to invitro fertilization …

In the nearly two years since the constitutional right to an abortion was struck down …

You’ll have to excuse a fair number of women if we’re looking for more than Borrelli’s assurances that a plot won’t suddenly surface to tell us yet again what we can — or cannot — do with our bodies.

Read it here https://www.yahoo.com/news/aspirin-between-knees-birth-control-175640918.html

Quite right don't trust one word of any assurances not to ban birth control (unless they assure you they are lying) made by the GOPQ anywhere.

Why Mango Fawns Over Putin

14:49 Mar 04 2024
Times Read: 423

Clinical psychologist Mary Trump suggested her uncle Donald Trump’s affinity for strongmen leaders stemmed from his childhood relationship with his father, Fred Trump.

The former president “has never evolved beyond the kind of person he was when he was very young and it’s not at all surprising because he grew up in an authoritarian household,” Mary Trump told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour in an interview that was broadcast at the weekend.

It’s “one of the things that should worry everybody about Donald,” the Republican front-runner’s niece claimed.

Mary Trump, who has become a fierce critic of her uncle, described her grandfather Fred Trump as “a quite straight-up sociopath.”

As “favorite son,” Donald Trump therefore “knew what he needed to do in order to stay on my grandfather’s good side,” she explained.

“Because he also understood what would happen to him if he didn’t,” she added. “So he [Donald Trump] is very comfortable in this milieu and it is extremely important to him that he get the benefits of associating with strong men like [Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor] Orbán and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, but also that he be on their good side.”

Last week, former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull recalled his unease at seeing Trump fawn over Putin on multiple occasions.

Turnbull called it “really creepy.”

It is “really no laughing matter when, at that point the leader of the free world is being described as a pre-pubescent child with a crush on an older, more powerful person,” Mary Trump said of Turnbull’s comments.

So Mary is Mango's neice. Mary is the daughter of Mango's older brother who died many years ago. Her father was a pilot who simply wanted to fly . He also was an alcoholic which Fred considered a major failing. Essentially Fred cut Mary and her mother out of his will. And what he did leave to them Mango tried to deprive them of it. If you haven't done so you should read her book , Too Much and Never Enough. She describes her uncle Mango in detail. Keeping in mind she has a PhD in Clinical Psychology. She knows exactly how dangerous this insurrectionist piece of trash is.

Former Fed Judge on Supremes Taking Up Immunity Case

12:31 Mar 01 2024
Times Read: 438

By NewsHound Ellen — February 29, 2024
Rubin joined retired federal appeals court Judge Michael Luttig to discuss with Nicolle Wallace the shocking news that the U.S. Supreme Court granted Trump’s request to consider his claim of presidential immunity. As CNN legal analyst Joan Biskupic put it, the decision made the court “a partner” in Trump’s effort to run the clock and seriously jeopardize any chance of a trial before the election.

Luttig issued a grave warning:

America fought one revolution almost 250 years ago in order that there would never be another revolution. And the Constitution prescribes that there will not be another revolution. But the intellectual underpinnings of the MAGA movement, the intellectual underpinnings, sound literally in revolution. And they compare what they are about, those people, to the revolution that we had in 1776. That is what's at issue in the next nine months.

Rubin got the last word. Her voice sounding as if it were about to break, she talked about “watching a building that I love” get “plundered” on January 6, 2021. “I think about what the judge is saying now and the intellectual underpinnings of the MAGA movement, and thinking about what that could look like, and I am beyond terrified, Nicolle, right now, for our country.”

Rubin said she had hoped and believed that there would be enough justices to merely affirm the lower court ruling without taking the case. “If there was a context in which you wanted to decide the bounds of presidential immunity, it's not this case,” she added.

We should all be terrified. And that should motivate everyone to do everything possible to make sure Donald Trump never sets foot inside the White House again.

https://crooksandliars.com/2024/02/msnbc-analyst-scotus-immunity-case-i-am

Don't be a bit surprised if Thomas and Alito say that Mango had absolute immunity to do as he pleases. I wonder if John Roberts contemplates late at night whether he maybe the LAST Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court? After all, Mango wanted to suspend the Constitution, other MAGA trash wish to have a Consitutional Convention in order to dismantle what we have come to rely on. You see once they start meddling with the organic law there is nothing to stop them.
