...and more familiarity for you, Jo, I'd imagine.
Unedited; alternately, pure.

The sky is darkest blue, the moon a pocked pale disc rising in her arc. The field is wide, the forest near, the swirls of winter's breath as frozen as the land.
You shift your weight, spread low across the denser crust, and you step with the flowing cushioned stride that keeps one floating inches deep in feet of crunchy snow. With easy patience and senses diffused into the dim, you let your ghostly silhouette drift from shadow to evergreen, and awoken ancient instinct hides the creak beneath your feet in the shifting breeze. You're invisible, and if the deer sense your passing, you bid them well; tonight, you hunt for beauty.
Tiny crystals speckle the air, setting it ablaze with silver sparks in any sort of light, until they melt on your face when they're gusted too near and freeze in your eyelashes, too small even to drip. The crispness of the air trickles through your clothes caressing you with muted chill. You're not cold. The ice beneath your skin joins you to the quiet. The wild's alive around you, alive in you, your own flame of life but one of the night's secrets. There, a shadow moves, and there the crack of a branch underfoot. To your ears, the sacred silence sings... this is oneness.

Remembering talks we had about this time in your life, sharing the thrill and beauty with you. So bittersweet, the remembering.
