Glass face; a gleam of recognition
in the eye
that something
'round the eyes...
...the frame beneath.
I know you.
Knew you.
Same grit of sand, forget the dunes
I see you underneath the scruff and scrag.
It has been long since I was you.
Old friend, the frame beneath, I know you (knew you)
so it is to you I turn
to ask (for you can tell me best)
Pray tell me,
who is this, this glass face?

Awake again and here I am again. Pray tell me, how did he answer?

bitterly
it's funny how much of the past is small and almost trivial
I keep seeing these posts with the double line spacing. I used to use wordpad for my scratch writing, and dump it straight in here from there... artifacts like that made it in for sure
and the reverse type... asterisks to represent italics, as I hadn't realized the site doesn't sanitize raw html (sorry devs, hopefully I don't cause a breach)
sometimes it's the small details that bring back the sense feel, though
