-SYDNEY-
"Sydney! Syd! Hey!" I turned sharply and almost knocked him over.
"Hey, Bernard." I sighed, turned back around and walked faster. I felt the heat of a human hand on my shoulder.
"Sydney, I wanna know what happened yesterday. You know, at the blood drive. Why won't you tell me?" Bernard stared deep into my eyes. I longed to tell him why I panicked during the blood drive. Why I ran screaming from the school. Why everything that could've possibly gone wrong yesterday did.
"Sydney?"
"We're gonna be late for school." I burst into a run, trying to get away from Bernard's prying questions. I know I'll have to answer them someday, but that day won't be today. My hair whipped in the wind as I came up to the school. I dashed inside and was hit by a wave of cool air. I touched my arms and discovered that I was covered with sweat. The school clock read seven-thirty AM so I quickly wiped off and tried to sneak into my home room without being noticed.
My peers whispered my name across the room.
"Sydney....Sydney...Sydney...Sydney"
I hung my head. Vibrations emanated from my jeans pocket. I pulled out my phone. Bernard had sent me a text message.
"Hey, what is going on with you Sydney?!" I shut my phone off and jammed it into my bad angrily.
"Sydney, did you really smash through a window yesterday? Or is that just rumor?" Eager eyes blinked for an answer.

Dear Helen,
I know I haven't written in a while even though I probably should've. It's always been hard for me to remember that kind of thing, ever since The Accident. Again I'm sorry about what happened to your brother. I can't believe it's been two years! We need to get together sometime. I've been thinking about you lately, I miss you. I'm taking a couple of friends down to Maryland if you're interested. There'd be stuff for the kids to do, and it'll be closed off from humans. It's actually a private beach owned by a buddy of mine, he's got a boat too. Call me when you can.
Your Friend,
Dale.

"Hey, Dale? It's Helen. I miss you too. Since Jake... left, I've been so depressed. Is that trip to Maryland still valid? If not then we should get together sometime. The kids are anxious to see Fiddles, and I don't blame them. I'd be excited to see a dog too if I'd never seen o-" Message length exceeded.
Emergency surveillance system activated.
"Mom? Mom? Mommy!? I'm scared! Please, Mommy I can't see... *cough* Mommy it's smokey in here!"
"Connor? Connor it's Jill! Connor?"
"Jill I'm scared!"
"Connor where are you?"
"I'm over here! Jill?"
*footsteps*
"Jill! *cough*"
"Connor it's okay you're safe now. Just hold on to me I'll get you out of here. Don't worry."
*cough*
