So I was at the firing range with one of my daughters last week, and there was an older couple there and we all got to talking. Some how the conversation came up and they thought that my daughter was a teen ager and they looked surprised that she was a lot older and then they looked at me. Before we left they said something about they were getting old or something and I said yes I was to because they were about my age. They just looked at me odd. After we left my daughter told me that they probably thought that I had, had her at a very young age like 13 or something and that I was a lot younger than them. Then a few days ago I was at the dollar general and I was buying two birthday cards because two of my grandchildren have birthdays this month. As I was checking out the cashier an older lady about my age started a conversation with me. I said yes it's usually always some ones birthday in the family as I have 13 grandchildren and its sometimes hard to keep up with. She looked at me weird and said you don't look that old. I have always had people think I looked younger for awhile now, except when i was a teen ager and people thought I looked older a little at that time. But, it seems like the older I get the more people notice that I look younger when they find out how old I am. When the people that have known me for a longest time happen to see me around now and then they seem to notice it the most and it kind of is starting to make me feel a little awkward at times. About five years ago I ran into someone that I had not seen in years and they said what are you doing with yourself? You look the same age that you did when I last saw you. Also, one time several years ago one of my ex boyfriends and I were doing some volunteer work for someone at the fairgrounds and a lady thought that he was my father and said is this your daughter that you have with you? And he was only a few years older then me. Also, I have noticed that people a lot younger then me that I have known are getting grey hair. I have yet to see one grey hair yet on me, so I am waiting to see when that might start happening, so far nothing! So from now on I think I will be just avoiding the whole how old am I conversations as much as possible. I feel i am aging but not as quickly as most people my age. I am not altogether sure why this is, but it's interesting.
