The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

This is the traditional greeting of witches. It is a shortened form of a blessing included in the Initiation ceremony of many traditions. In full, the rite is as follows:



Blessed be thy feet, that have brought thee in these ways

Blessed be thy knees, that shall kneel at the Sacred Alter.

Blessed be thy womb/genitals, the fount of life, without which we would not be.

Blessed be thy breasts, erected in beauty and in strength.

Blessed by thy lips, which shall utter the sacred names.



To say "Blessed Be" to another is to imply this full blessing.

That was really interesting to hear about. Thanks for sharing that little bit, and I'll try to remember it next time I hear someone say "Blessed be."
