Well the deed is finally done. Digging out the kitchen, diningroom, and livingroom from props, costumes, sewing scraps, and everything in creation was quite a task. Nearly as energy consuming as throwing the ball itself.
Time marches on, the week is finally come to a close and oddly the Nocturne aftermath thead has climbed to 1650 give or take. Wow. Halloween is over, and making way to Thanksgiving stuff, and not forget xmas. Oy.
My final thank you is posted on nocturnes blog, though I honestly don't know how many people are signed up to read it. As I say on our podcast, "If I knew how many people heard us, I wouldn't be talking." Cleaned out emails both VR and personal, finding receipts strewn about like confetti in our bedroom. That's another dig out right there.
What do we think we are announcing for the donation? I'm hoping, but don't quote yet $1,000.00 for the first year. Again, I won't know until we find all the receipts and finally the last of the bills are paid. We should know by next month easily.
So now I've learnt what this phrase "free time" really means. No doubt about it. Next month after my trip back to Mass. for xmas I'm looking into a gym. Not only to lose weight, but it'll be great for running off the stress that will no doubt be there next year. I miss swimming.
Are we surprised by how many people actually came? HELL YES! Again, that's another thing we have to run through for my end of year report, but I believe strongly we cleared 60 people, and 10, at least, staff. So thankfully we had enough people that the hall wasn't going to look so bare.
What was the best part of the weekend? Oh geeesh, the limo ride to Trans from Prince Cancer, by every means of the imagination yes. Emphatic hell yes. What else, besides meeting friends, and making new ones? The business cards Karl brought to me after the party. Sounds silly doesn't it? The business cards were like little treasures to be open later.
One gentleman who is a swordsmith wants to make one to donate for next year. Another is a cancer survivor who wants to help us do advertising with her. Not to mention what Jason said at Trans, he said that Knash shown interest in doing teeth next year. "KNASH?!" I'd swear my jaw was on the patio ground.
So as always, the things I actually am working on for next year are kept under lock and key. Of course, until next year. I want to enjoy the holidays, and I do, but I always remind myself that there's also work to be done. Yes it takes a whole year to plan.
*humming "This is Halloween" to myself.
