Calling everyone. The internet has exploded with the story of Christian's being accused of being Pagan in a little Michigan town. These people were given anonymous "love notes" regarding their Christmas Lights.

Click the link and read the comments.

I am a Christian, living with a Pagan man, who has taught me about his rituals and what part of the Holiday seasons came from his religion. I accept this, as it would be ridiculous for me to assume, that this is soully a Christian Holiday, with the History to be self evident.

My personal belief: I love how it is appalling to some people, to be compared with "Pagans" or as they call them, "Heathens". Other "Christians" are blaming the Jehovah's Witnesses. They are emphatically telling anyone in the News Community, that they are Christians. That they go to Church and their kids go to Christian School. I have met enough Christians and Catholics alike that believe, just because they go to church, their shit doesn't stink and they can do whatever they want. I don't know about anyone else, but I thought God was all about love during this season. I guess not.

From what I could read this was part of the note:

"Hi Neighbor. You have a nice display of lights and this love note explains how that pagan tradition began. For thousands of years Sun worshipers have celebrated the Sun God's rebirth after solstice. Pagans honored the birth of the "invincible sun" with a "festival of lights." They used big bonfires, pigs fat tallow candle lights, and today, billions of colored Christmas lights. Rome's seven-day December Saturnalia was a religious revelry with decadent drunkenness, outrageous adultery and giving Saturn's Nativity birth gifts to the children. The Norseman's yuletide solstice carousel used sexual soliciting mistletoe. Yule-log bonfire, and decorated evergreen wreaths and trees to worship."

I didn't get the rest, as it isn't posted anywhere that I can find, but people are stating that the note compares them to "Heathens" or "Calls us Heathens". What do you think?
