Fuck, I've had enough with these damn threads on the origins of vampires! I don't mind the actual intelligent discussion between knowledgeable people, but I'm getting really fucking sick of people citing Vlad, Lilith, Cain, Judas, etc. as the first vampires. First of all, Vampire history extends back before anything written in the bible, effectively excluding Lilith, Cain, and Judas. Secondly, Not only was Vlad waaaaayyyy too recent in history to be the first, but he was a fucking soldier, NOT a vampire. Just because Bram Stoker took a little artistic approach to him, there has been an explosion in vampire role-playing that has been based around Vlad. Word to the wise: It's a work of FICTION!!!!!!! Dumbasses...

yes, it is a work of fiction, based on a Countess, Erzsabet Bathory, whom bathed and drank in blood, in attempt to retain youth, and entertain herself. She was known to kill 500-700 common women, too many to count. she was kept locked in her tower for three years, before she died herself. 16th century. who knows how long vampirism has been around? Erzsabet was one of the more recent in my opnion, i believe it goes back beyond christianity, among with the oldest of any religion or lifestyle.
