Last week my daughter was on her half term holiday so I managed to spend a great deal of time with her.
On one of the days I was tidying up her pc for her whilst she was playing her play station. Out of the blue and completely being preoccupied she began to hum a tune. I was amazed as the tune was the very song that I used to sing to her when she was a baby. I guess I sang this song a little too much as she would never consciously hum it .... lol
Her name is Dominique and I would substitute the word 'dreamer' with my nicname for her 'Nica'.
This was the version that I would sing to her.
Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me, Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee;
Sounds of the rude world, heard in the day,
Lull'd by the moonlight have all pass'd away!
Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song,
List while I woo thee with soft melody;
Gone are the cares of life's busy throng, Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
This is the second verse from the original...
Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea Mermaids are chanting the wild lorelie;
Over the streamlet vapors are borne, Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn.
Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart, E'en as the morn on the streamlet and sea;
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart, Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

It's just amazing how children remember loving tunes sung by their parents! Cool song ;0)
