Considering that I have just recently join VR, my first journal entry shall be in regards to recent events in my life that have brought me to this site.
I moved from Northwest Arkansas back in 2007 to South Florida. I spent the first year in Hollywood, FL and worked at Hot Topic (which is far more entertaining than the Hot Topic in Fayetteville, AR). One day, while working at Hot Topic, a hispanic lady and her daughter came into the store looking for people to be extras in a Spanish Vampire Mini-Series called Gabriel. And of course, I jumped on the opportunity.
After the filming was done, I left Hot Topic and moved down to Miami, FL to persue an acting career. I worked in a number of different TV/Film productions in various different roles. It was well worth the time and effort, however the gigs were not as frequent as I had hoped.
Then, in late 2009, I moved back to Northwest Arkansas to deal with some family issues. Both of my parents are disabled, and now they are getting divorced. I came back to help the family deal with the stress that comes with such legal actions. My youngest sister and her new husband live with and care for my father. My other sister and myself found a house to move our mother into. We take care of her at the moment.
However, things have become increasingly difficult within the family, and now my youngest sister and her husband are planning to move out of state. My mother and the sister that lives with me are looking to move somewhere else. For the most part, my services here are no longer needed. So now I am planning a few things to prepare myself to move on with my own life.
The difficult part of it all is that I lost my last job back in February, and have had no luck in locating another job over these past months. Because of that little detail, I am having difficulties finding a place to go. So, I have been posting ads on craigslist looking for temporary housing in exchange for services around the house as well as a portion of the food stamps money I get every month.
Now... the MAIN reason I have joined VR is to locate a new donor as well as locate other vampires in my area. I do not expect a tremendous turn-out on the latter of the two, considering that this is Northwest Arkansas, the redneck hell-hole. Vampires in this community are difficult to locate compared to larger, more diverse cities, because the people here are so closed-minded that we have no choice but to stay in hiding (figuratively speaking).
I am hoping to locate at least a few other vampires in my area, so that we may meet up every so often to discuss issues that arise due to the location in which we live. And also to seek out assistance in locating a new donor.
I ended up dating my last donor (big mistake), she was a bit psychotic though. Ended up in jail for stealing from her own sister. She has since been nothing more than a pain in my side with all the messages she sends me online. Even after having blocked her accounts, she still contacts me by creating new accounts. I would like to find a new donor who will not be quite so clingy and psychotic, but it has been difficult to find open-minded people in my area.
