An old poem l wrote when l was about 14
Into said night they went without fright, to ever return hence the light came to burn.
To let lay softly the humans of day, to ever steal souls in every way.
Blood of life meets dark of night, solely made to steal and fight.
Eternal hunger, eternal thirst, forever these creatures are cursed.
To live in darkness near to fear, as light was always meant to sear.
Sharpened teeth meet flesh so tender, nothing there to stop or hinder.
Forever gifted with eternal life, cannot be stopped by gun nor by knife.
Light alone can't clear their path, for suffers all a hellish wrath.
Forever to bleed their victims dry, time heals all as it flies by.
Forever to hunt the light of night, many calling them 'but a blight.'
Forever to fear the light of day, unable to feel it in any way.
Ragged breaths over their shredded lips, fangs ready to kill from base to tips.
