So Daisys results came through, one of her blood results are positive for a mutated gene caled Connexin26, which me and Lukes are carriers, and have made one whole gene with Daisy, its the most common cause of bilateral sensori neural hearing loss in children, we have to go to a genetics councelling session on 22nd of this month to find out more, have more tests from me and Luke, its also possible that its progressive, meaning eventually she wont have any hearing at all with her hearing aids, me and luke have a 1 in 4 chance of having another deaf child, Daisy has a 1 in 2 chance of having a deaf child of her own. It will never put her off having children of her own, as she is going to be brought up as normal as she possibly can be, she will probably be happier than a normal child with hearing, so why would having a perfect life make her not want her own children, deaf or not. We have started learning baby signing. Its pretty easy really, and its fun to be picking up a new language, Daisys already started lip reading, she watches your mouth when you talk.
Bradley and Lilly have gone back to school after 6 weeks of summer holidays, they seem to of had a brilliant first day back... heres to the early mornings... YAWN lol
