I had this discussion on a Facebook page a while back and it was interesting to note limits of proximity.
I practice with cybernetic operations of the information model as presented by Frater U:.D:. in High Magic Volume 1, where you use the idea of direct transference from spellcaster to target. My experiments led me to see there isn't a distance that is important when it comes to direct transference. I mainly used it to see if I could make people wear a specific colored shirt I hadn't seen them wear.
It worked 3 out of 5 times. It could be coincidence, but I also noticed the people that I intended to wear shirts that did, I had a closer relationship to them than those that it did not work on. It wasn't proximity that was the issue but raport.
Feeding is different as I found it does involve proximity. I can feel a major difference in distance from talking range, shouting range, to visual range. I notice about 9 feet is the proximity that I can absorb lifeforce until it peters out. It is a fairly week sensation from 6-9 feet compared to 1-3 feet.
Seems obvious, but it was a good test on the differences of distance and concepts of information to energy exchange.
I did try feeding through the information concept but it was like eating air. Not much substance of any. Maybe it was blocked by belief, but I never could get behind feeding over the internet or through proxy like photographs and such. The donor/target needs to be within a certain physical range for me to feel something of benefit.
