Received a chess board for Christmas...and no one is interested in playing with me.
My mom is now insisting my younger sister buy her a chocolate cake and carrot cake. Yet, when she tried to make cookies with the ingredients we already have at home she gets yelled at: "We don't need any more sweets in the house. We're diabetics and you're trying to kill us."
To top it off, my sister confided in me that after paying off three off our bills and doing her Christmas shopping she only has $4 left to spend until her next pay check.
I tried to purchase the cakes to appease my mother but she will only be happy if my younger sister makes the purchase.
We both work minimum wage jobs, but at least my sister is helping to pay the bills at the moment (because I just started working and she gets more work hours). I'm just going to give my sister $20 and let my mom believe my sister bought the cakes.
It's not like they need the cakes anyway, but my mother can hold grudges. I'd rather not see things turn uglier.
Continue to take the verbal abuse or become homeless?
