I feel the need or want to inform people about what is physically wrong with my body. I have a neuromuscular disability. Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT) is a disease that affects the nerves in the arms and legs as well as hands and feet. Over time the nerves get hurt and begin sending false signals as well as begin to lose the signals on the way to the area. The nerve damage affects sensation and muscle strength in those areas. There is often evident muscle wasting in the hands, feets, and lower legs. Another common symptom of CMT is a foot with either a very high arch or one that is completely flat.
For me I have very high arched feet, a slight drop foot, the start of hammer toes, and some wasting of muscles in my hands and feet as well as calves. The best resource out there for CMT is the CMTA's website: www.charcot-marie-tooth.org

I have been sitting here learning the ropes of this site wondering why really am I doing this. I mean I have profiles on so many various websites out there and how many do I really check all that frequently. I am liking this one so far though I am still not too sure on how everything works. Maybe with time I will learn to work things better and maybe this will delve me back into the things I used to be so involved in. We will see with time.
