DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP

I have always been fond of this poem since I was a teenager... Here it is for you to enjoy.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am the song that will never end.
I am the love of family and friend.
I am the child who has come to rest
In the arms of the Father
who knows him best.
When you see the sunset fair,
I am the scented evening air.
I am the joy of a task well done.
I am the glow of the setting sun.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
The sweet little kitten at your feet,
I am the purr you love, so sweet.
I am its fur so warm and soft,
I am the spring in its jump, aloft.
I am the ticking of the clock,
I am am perpetual, like the rock.
I am the force that holds birds in flight,
I am that thing which we call: delight.
Do not cry for me, that is not for what I long,
just remember the good times in life and song.
For I stand behind you, my arms wide,
Waiting for you to join me by my side.
Do not stand at my grave and shed a tear.
I am not there, no need to fear.
Do not stand at my grave and whine.
I am not there, but you will be mine!
