These words sound so hollow ringing through my head. I stumble over my words, stuttering and sobbing. My vision is blurry and the world has a black ring around it, like it were all a dream, but my dreams are all vile abstract nightmares and this is all too real. My lip is bleeding. Everything in his eyes says fury. Everything in mine say fear.
I hear various doors slam around the house, his cursing and angry shouting piercing into my thoughts of a happier home.
A few more years, dear. Then I'm long gone.
