For those who like pics of gray ships and salt water, there is a whole new patch of goodies for you in my portfolio. :-) Descriptions of the pics to follow. Enjoy.
I added some pics of my ship in the drydock in the United Arab Emerates. I'm going to add some more shots of what my ship actually does over here, soon.
For anyone who wonders just how slow my net connection is on this here ship, here's a for instance:
It took 5 minutes and 47 seconds to completely load the Vamp Box history.
Even Comcast has gotta be better than that. heheheh
Funny how my rating SHOT up in the wake of a certain someone's profile being deleted.
Well, "shot" up is reletive, but it went up quite a bit considering how long I've been on here and how much it takes to nudge my rating. Yeah, that sounds pompous but it's not. It's just simple math.
Don't hate the playah...
I just finished watched the 5th and final season of Angel. I am not pleased with the way the series ended. Rumor has it that a movie featuring James Marsters (Spike) might be in the works, but I'm not sure that the character can carry 2 hour film on his back. I dunno....
I just found some stuff on the net stating rumors that Joss Whedon is in negotiations to write and direct aa big screen version of Wonder Woman. ??? Interesting.
Since New Orleans is getting most of the press coverage, here's what's happening on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

It's pretty long, so I didn't paste the whole thing into the journal.
The following link shows a few emails from Coastal residents to www.gulfcoastnews.com.

GNC has been an awesome source of information for all of us who live down there. There is a survivors database lists over 60,000 people and families from New Orleans to Mobile and Florida. The guys who run the site have been able to keep it running during and after Katrina (That Bitch) landed on us.
Once again, I can't urge everyone enough to try to donate to the legitimate charitable organizations. Poeple need help, out there, folks.
Lately, folks have been writing to me, asking why I'm not on the site as much as I used to be. Work has been doing a whammy on me. That and the wonderful hurricane known as Katrina. Subsequently, I spend more time on the phone, trying to call home, and away from the computer. I'm hoping things will mellow out for me in a month or so, but it looks like my time on VR will continue to be sporadic. I don't think I'll be pulling a Melody and just going "poof," but I wouldn't count that out, either. I just don't have as much disposable time to sit on the 'puter as I usually do. People who are used to yapping with me on Yahoo or seeing me on the VR all day/ night long, have probably picked up on this. No great loss in the grand scheme of things. heheh
Anyway, to those of you that have inquired as to the status of my family and my house, post-Katrina, I'd like to say thanks. The support has been very appreciated. Know that it seems my house is in pretty good shape. The initial reports are that there was moderate damage to the outside. Nothing time and money won't fix. We don't know about the inside, yet. My folks went back yesterday, but since all the phones and mobile services are pretty much dead, I can't talk to them anymore. We were certainly more fortunate than Biloxi, which is the next town to the west of us. It's amazing what a difference a couple of miles can make.
Keep praying for those who have been displaced or lost EVERYthing due to the storm. Or whatever you do. Light candles. Blood sacrifices are NOT appropriate. I encourage everyone who can to donate to the Red Cross or whatever charitable organization you like best. Those folks in New Orleans and Gulf Coast Mississippi will be needing the help.
